Eh, I`m not the guy to reference Re pads as I`m just using up my, uhm...accumulated stash of `em and am hopelessly out-of-date on today`s pad choices.

That said, I usually use the Meguiar`s burgundy foam Cutting Pads (either the old 7006 or their newer one), or a LC/etc. orange Light Cut pad. (For some reason I get really good results with those Meg`s burgundy pads, maybe it`s just familiarity.)

No, I haven`t tried MF Cutting Disks on the Flex3401 yet. I don`t like to put enough pressure on the MF disks to deflect/bend-over the nap, and I tend to apply a fair amount of pressure with the Flex 3401, though not enough to cause backing plate-to-housing interference issues. Perhaps a lighter touch + MF disks would work great, oughta try it some time but I just keep sticking with what works for me as I wait for my current pads to wear out.

I wasn`t happy with the Purple Foamed Wool pads on the 3401, but that might`ve been either user-error or a personal preference as others do like them for that.

I believe folks like the LC Hybrids...even have a wool pad for that really tough stuff. Never used `em, no Flex yet.

from what I gather, it`s not a great combo anyway. Seems the Flex 3401 is better "balanced" with the thicker pads

I bought the *thin* Purple Foam Wool for the standard DAs, and the "regular" Blue Hybrid Foam to use with the 3401. Haven`t had any heavy correction to do in some time, so haven`t tried them out yet.

Wow, Accumulator, you really are using some...hehe..vintage...products! Just kidding. If the stuff works for you, just use it til it`s gone!

Those seem to work well with the Flex 3401. I used a 4" version while doing some tight spots on a car I was working on. I liked it so much, I finished off the entire side of the car with the 4" pads!

FWIW...used the Rupes w/ Wolfgang TSR & FG yesterday; started out on yellow Rupes pad, ended up finishing using B & S Low Pro Maroon pad. Really liked the B & S pad, more so than the Rupes yellow as far as running the machine goes. Was a bit more forgiving of lackadaisical technique.

Did kill a Rupes yellow pad...think it was too much product. Mid cycle it started spitting out little tiny fragments of pad and then launched from the backing plate and sped across the floor, conveniently coming to rest next to a garbage can; Live and learn...

I`ve seen folks destroy the blue and greens but the yellows not so much.

That yellow pad must have been loaded up with polish. I`ve destroyed the greens, but never a yellow, yet.

I have a certain talent when it comes pad misfortune when starting out with things.

First pad launch when using GG6 last year...probably couldn`t duplicate if`n I tried:
