Review Poorboys Tornado Foam and Wool Pad Cleaner

Show me your dirty microfiber and pads

I had a few pads laying around that needed to be cleaned. These have been sitting dirty for a few weeks now. I completely forgot about them until I saw them again today. Perfect timing to try out the foam and pad cleaner and my first ever Poorboy`s product.

Here is the bottle I received. The labels were damaged on arrival as one of the products leaked in the bag.

I washed these pads by hand since I didn`t have that many to clean. I sprayed it onto the pad and let them soak for a few minutes. I worked it in and rinsed the pads out with warm water.

A Meguiar`s foam pad before and after. This pad was used with an interior protectant. I believe it was Blackfire.





Here`s a Rupes blue pad that has Zephir compound on it.



There is only water in the open celled foam.



Here`s another Rupes pad that had Keramik polish on it.





Finally this last foam pad was used with Adams leather conditioner.






Overall the foam and pad cleaner did an excellent job cleaning out the pads. The scent reminded me of black licorice. It`s tolerable unlike some APC`s. It left no residue in the pad as far as I can tell as the product rinsed out fairly easily. Next time I will use it with the other method of soaking the pads in water and a couple ounces of the foam and pad cleaner.

Guz, When I saw your review I made a reminder to try it on my Rupes 4" yellow pad. This had been cleaned by hand using PB APC 15:1 I did take a before and waiting on the after but the pad looks so much cleaner now. Can`t wait to get more.2 thumbs up for Tornado .The only thing I persona lly wanna get out there is I like Poorboy`s Simple Bottle Labels and Simple Names.I prefer just "Pad Cleaner" and "Microfiber Detergent"Tornado and Typhoon ?

I can`t find this anywhere yet. Is this still a prototype product? I always keep some XMT pad cleaner on hand. So far its the best one I have tried to remove sealants, AIO and waxes. However, that stuff can really take your breathe away so it scares me a little. Normally the CG pad cleaner concentrate is what I use. It`s always done a fine job removing polishes from pads and is very economical.

I`ve never understood why the various brands of polishing pad cleaners with the packets/jar of powder are so expensive. I will soak them in that first if I have enough dirty pads otherwise I feel like I am wasting a packet for just a few pads.

Yes, the APC was good, but we looked to make something more specific and a little better ... the names are not set in stone .. just was a top of the head thought when we started our testing

no, they are still in the testing and tweaking phase .. results have been pretty good, but there might be room for improvement

I always have tough time getting Rupes Keramik out of the yellow pads.

Going to bump up my own thread. I used some left over Tornado the other day to clean up some pads. What a great product. Cleaned up the pads great. Unfortunately no additional photos.
