    No Mess Tire Dressing Applicator

I saw this thing at Pep Boys for $1.90. I remember seeing the brand for sale at PBMG, so I thought I`d give up 2 bucks to try it. I usually don`t shop at PBs for detailing supplies, but I figured since I saw it on AG it`s prolly legit.

So, it`s a piece of foam. Not too exciting, right?

But, whatever foam they use is the best foam I`ve used to apply tire dressings. It`s super firm - making smoothing out and spreading dressings so much nicer. It absorbs just the right amount of dressing (used with Opti Bond).

This thing spread dressing more evenly and easily than any applicator I used previously. It`s so firm, you feel like your polishing it into the rubber. Also, I used less dressing compared to other applicators I used.

I also like the applicator gets stored in its own clam shell piece - no greasy applicator laying around. The size is perfect for low profile tires. It also has a hook on the case so you can hang it up on a nail.

The product also says made in the USA. The dressing foam seems to be attached to the holding foam by something other than glue. It doesn`t seem like it would ever come off. As long as it stays together - this thing is a winner.

I also noticed Pep Boys has applicators by No Mess for polish and wax. This thing is worth $1.90 EASY - but now that I`ve tried it; I`d gladly pay 5 bucks for it from PBMG.

If you like tools that make a job easy, fast, and just feel right using - this is the applicator for you. This is much faster and nicer than using squishy foam applicators or a tire brush.

    From the NM website:

"No Mess applicators are 100% made in USA, and all of our closed cell foams are specially formulated to best compliment their intended use.

Each No Mess foam applicator has a bonded rigid handle for ease of grip, and of course, each applicator is housed in its own resealable container for reuse, again and again!

Just because an item retails for $2.49, it doesnt mean it shouldnt perform. Well guess what! The other brands of applicators DON`T perform. In fact, most dont work. They break down usually within one use. Stop worrying about the "yucky", mess you are left with when you are done."

I will have to try one of these out. PepBoys stocks a foam Carrand applicator I have been using but the foam doesn`t last.

I have the same design applicator for my shoe polish. Might have to clean one and give it a try.

I purchased mine from O`Reilly Auto Parts. They have several foam types but preferred the softer foam for tires.

Re: No Mess Tire Dressing Applicator

I used one of these for years, worked great for dressing a bed liner. The lid lost it`s snap and would just fall off. I pitched it and never bothered to replace it. Thanks for the reminder.

I have been using the tuff shine applicators for tires but I like that this has the storage. I think I will pick a couple of these up too. Thanks for the review.
