Review of Nanolex Ultra Glass Sealant

    Hello all!

I tested out the Ultra Glass Sealant that I received, and I must say...I`ve really been looking forward to trying this product out. For years now, I have been using Rain-X, and though it performs really well, I`ve recently been looking for something that may perform better and last longer.

    According to Nanolex:
Nanolex Ultra Glass Sealant is the non-plus-ultra coating system for automotive glass surfaces.
The system contains the highest technically possible amount of active raw ingredients such as nano-scaled SiO2, which are responsible for beading performance and durability.

Nanolex Ultra Glass Sealant is an advanced nanotechnology coating that forms a permanent barrier against water, oil and grime on automotive glass surfaces.

The coating improves visibility and therefore driving comfort in bad weather conditions significantly. It reduces the need to use windscreen wipers and screen wash greatly. In addition grime and bug splatter can be washed off easily, deicing is much easier too.Rain drops are blown off by the airflow when driving speeds exceed 40 Km/h.

The durability of Nanolex Ultra Glass Sealant is outstanding as well, with at least 18 months or 30000 km.

The product can be applied easily and efficiently, 3-6ml already suffice to coat a windshield.

Used and tested in cooperation with Motorsport Team Hohaus in the German endurance race cup VLN on the Nürburgring.

    Developed & manufactured in Germany.

    On to the testing:

I used this on my Altima that had Rain-X previously applied about 4 months ago. To ensure I had a clean surface to work with, I polished the entire windshield with Menz 106 and an orange pad, and then followed that up with an IPA wipedown and a final Stoner`s IG wipedown. After everything was done, there was no beading at all:

I followed the directions and applied the Glass Sealant using the provided cotton swabs. Once the product "cured," I buffed it off using a MF towel. Application was quite easy. Outside of prepping the glass correctly, it`s easy on and easy off. Once buffed, I sprayed some more water on the car to see how it performed. Here is a 50/50 shot of the beading action. You can see on the passenger side of the windshield that that nothing applied:

I enjoyed working with this product and given how it performed just during rinsing, it`s going to be a very promising product. Fortunately it is supposed to rain this afternoon, so I will get to see how it performs while driving which I`ll report back on and then I`ll also report back here every few weeks to update on its durability.

    Thanks for reading!!

Re: Review of Nanolex Ultra Glass Sealant

    Update to this:

Glass sealant was originally applied on December 7th...so 4 weeks ago. Since application, the car has been driven once from Tampa to Jacksonville and then back to Tampa (about 400 miles round trip) and also from FL to IL, IL to WI, WI back to IL and then finally IL back to FL...over 2400 miles round trip. Throughout all this...it`s seen hot and below freezing temperatures, regular rain, freezing rain and snow...not to mention that while we were in IL and WI...the car sat outside full time (it`s typically garage kept). This photo was taken Saturday (1/3) morning...keep in mind this is still a dirty car:

This was after I washed the car with Meg`s Gold Class and Nanolex`s Washcoat:

I was able to get this video on the way back from IL...somewhere in GA if I remember correctly:

    Great glass sealant!!
