    Heres my engine covers....I`ve been working on them since January off and on.....finally when i got my bumper and kit painted, I went ahead and got these done too. I did all the prepwork to flatten the surface. I am gonna get them to paint my fuse box covers....side of my Acura TL batterybox.....and my intake cover to match(i would get an intake.....but am planning on other means of induction later which would make the intake be a waste of 100$)....anyways....tell me what ya thinks.....

    thanks man.......I also forgot something.....hehe.....i also powdercoated the heat shield that goes over my headers....which you can kinda see in the pics.....

    Hey, would spray paint achieve a similar result, except crappier?





    Also, would it be hard to paint a engine cover that is plastic? It isn`t very flexible.

    With the shop I did it with. I think i got the covers included for about what it would cost for a couple cans of spray paint. They did this because i was having my front bumper and bodykit sprayed, so it wouldn`t cost them much of anything to do. The key is in the prep work. Yours has more lettering on it......which would definitely take more time. On mine.....I prolly spent 10 hours sanding, priming, and masking the letters off...If you have a decent place to paint and you`re good with a spray can....you can achieve similar results. In fact I tried it myself and did get similar results...but always got tiny specs of dust that ruined it for me...So basically, if you find a shop that would do it for a decent cost it`s the way to go....but if not then doing it by yourself can be done.

    that looks great....one question tho....do you drive yours around and let the paint get hot....my intake manifold prolly goes to about 150~ degrees.....just wondering if you have had any probs with the paint getting hot....

    I think it looks better without the engine cover at all

    No problem whatsoever with the heat. The flex agent in the clear makes it tolerate engine temperatures. Keep in mind, this is the same paint that is on your hood, fenders, etc.
