Striker- That`s the way! Looks good. How long do you expect that 1Z to last? How do you plan to maintain it? I ask because I had to give up the "dressing approach" in favor of something more durable.
I`ve got no clue sir. As for maintaining the clean bay? That will probabLy be a weekly, by weekly thing for me to do. Probably nothing more than a light de greaser diluted 4:1 for upkeep and call it a day.
That`s a good question about he 1z. How long is it supposed to last??

Striker- No idea how long the 1Z will last...watch that you don`t "clean it off" along with any dirt by cleaning too aggressively. You shouldn`t need to degrease, I do fine with just some shampoo mix or even IUDJ, but then my engine compartments aren`t done with a dressing either.
See how it works for you, just don`t let it go too long between redos if the 1Z isn`t holding up. Much easier to touch-up than to repeat the Big Job approach!
Yea for sure. Well I do have a bottle of their plastic cleaner too but I`m thinking I`d save that product for when I actually go and re apply the 1z

Just a quick update- I haven`t touched the car since I last posted this- it`s been monsoon season here in Canada so there was no sense in washing it.
Finally I got around to it today even tho it was a bit too chilly. I was curious to see how the 845 held up. So far I like how it sheds the water.
Some pics during the wash and the wheels being cleaned.
Just a quick rinse with the hose
Then the good ole flooding method!
Thank god for brushes
Really liking the shine of this LSP

Has anyone else noticed 845s ability to not allow bugs to stick to the front bumper? I was going over the front bumper the other day and couldn`t find any bug guts. Very surprised. Could be just luck.

Striker- Yeah, Collinite is pretty good in that regard. Not FK1000P-good, but better than many LSPs.

Something other than a dressing, which I generally call "slime" Some examples:
-The Klasse twins (layer the KSG heavily, but always buff both products off *BEFORE* they dry/flash)
-KAIO topped with Collinite 845 (again, buff off before dry). I`ve also topped with 476S and FK1000P but those LSPs can bite ya (i.e., leave the dreaded white residue stains) if things go sideways so "Don`t try this at home, kids!" probably applies though some here have pulled it off
-Spray waxes such as OCW/D156/UQW or even good leave-stuff-behind QDs such as ValuGard`s FastFinish. I use these as Drying Aids and they`re keeping the black trim on the Tahoe *great* and look/last much better than I`d expected
-Ultima`s Tire&Trim Guard+ which is the only Trim Sealant I`ve tried. Stuff works great for me on everything under the hood that`s not metal (and some bits that are) and all exterior black trim, haven`t tried it on tires though
These days the only things I Slime are my tires and the (oh-so-compromised) running boards/brush guard of the Tahoe (which I do with Autoglym`s Bumper Care, great stuff for what it is and different from anything similar that I`ve tried).
Though KAIO cleans well and preps nicely for an LSP topper, my primary trim/etc. cleaner is Griot`s Rubber Prep, which I consider a genuine Miracle Product that everybody oughta have on the shelf. Zero issues topping it with the Ultima.

The deep plastic cleaner I used in the above photos is just that- a good cleaner and man does it ever clean. I`d recommend it to anyone. After it dries it doesn`t look like you put anything on.
