Project Cockroach Teaser Pics

I`m calling this 2008 Toyota Camry "Project Cockroach" because for the first couple of days I worked on this car, every time I looked in the interior I would notice a cockroach crawling away.

When I first inspected this vehicle, I didn`t have much hope for it and even tried to turn it down. But after a test spot I accepted the challenge. Here are a few teaser pics before I type out the full process, tools and products used for this d̶e̶t̶a̶i̶l̶ restoration. I`m just VERY EXCITED to see this car leave the garage and wanted to share some of the pics today.

After posting these pics I want to take another long hot shower. I think it`s unfortunate someone would treat Motor Trends 2008 Car of the Year like this. It`s only 7 years old and was in such bad shape. The previous owner must have been a heavy smoker.

Does the Tornador Velocity work like an extractor?

Yep. But this interior was so bad I still had to come back with a hot water extractor. The 50/50 pic of the dirty carpet is after multiple scrubs with a carpet brush on a DA then a hot water extractor. The Velocity-Vac has insane suction and did a great job for the hair and sand (this was a female owned car) but not enough for the deep stains.

Here`s a picture of the drivers side carpet after the Velocity-Vac + Turbo Enzyme Cleaner.

This car was covered in deep key scratches. Some of them came out with just a wool pad on rotary then polish. Some of them I wet sanded > rotary wool > polish. The trunk lid was so bad I wet sanded the entire trunk.









The doors were wet sanded > rotary wool > polish > Dr Colorchip. You can still see the light traces of the scratches if you bend over and look directly at the panel, but it`s MUCH better.

Yep. A kit car based off a Ferrari P4. The owner of the dealership used to race cars and that`s his project.
