How many times can you safely PC the car without having to worry about damaging the clearcoat?

~One man’s opinion~
Most modern clear coats are 1.5 - 2.0 mils thick; never remove more that 0.3 mil of clear coat or premature paint film failure will occur.

What gets overlooked too often is that one must be a student before becoming a teacher.

Just a guess~ but I think Lynn (moderator) has had some experience in the removal of some clear coat.
By using X product for Y amount of time with Z type pad is well beyond my realm of experience, but I’d be more than interested in the answer.

Its really impossible to tell unless you have a paint thickness guage. They are about $350 though. Other than that, it is pretty much all speculation. How many times have you used DACP on your car and that might help gives us a better feel for it. There is a post on Showcargarage about clearcoat thickness.
Yah... So would I... not necessarily an exact answer... but an educated guess.
Anyone have any ideas?
