OK this is a bigtime rant as I just picked up my blazer from them, they re-did the gold shield rust protection and the package included a full interior/exterior detail.

    1) When I pulled up, I immediately noticed that they had some of the rust proofing undercoat all over the tires, and the vinyl dressing they used on the door handles was all over the paint surrounding them (I`ll go out and take pics in a few minutes)

    2) When I went in, the guy gave me an attitude of, "well its freshly detailed, don`t expect total perfection..." (I was thinking, "well I could`ve done a better job myself, and would have had it not been for the fact that I can`t do the undercoating myself)

    3) When he came out to "fix" the problems, he brought one rag (already dirty) and a bottle marked "IPA 50/50." Before I could say anything he was going after the tires taking off the undercoating overspray (as well as the tire dressing at the same time) and next darted up to the door handle WITHOUT EVEN TURNING THE RAG! and cleaning the paint arround it. (note he was spraying the IPA while doing this..) so whatever poly sealant they did put on the paint was now long gone, and he was leaving swirls behind on this freshly polished paint job.

Anyways, the detail is not exactly what I would call high quality, the rustproofing looks thorough enough, but the rest.... ick.

So I guess tomorrow I get to re-detail over their mistakes, huh??

    :nono :shocked :scared :argue

Wow. That is unbelievable. Number 1: Yes you should expect it to be perfect after they freshly detail it. What...? Is it supposed to get cleaner with age or something? What morons... Sorry. Let me rephrase that... What UTTER morons.

I know how you feel though. Its like, you don`t want to look like some kind of clean freak or detailing weirdo, but it is just pure hell to watch someone do something totally wrong when you know there are better ways to do it. And they call themselves professionals.... I know that not all professionals are like that so I don`t want to catagorize them all together. It just goes to show you that just because you do something for a living doesn`t mean you are any good at it.

Next time throw a wet sponge at the person. Its non leathal and safe in case it bounces off and hits your car. It will also get their attention fairly quickly.

I had my truck undercoated last year, and it didn`t occur to me that they would wash it afterwards. When I got there, it was all "nice and washed". Really, they didn`t very much damage at all -- maybe a few swirl marks here and there.

I like the carport! If I ever find a house, I`m getting one of those (without the sides) just so I can have a place to wash out of the sun.

My friend worked there for a few years. Detailing is definitely not there forte.

Thanks for the heads up. I`m about to get the rust deterant on my car. I had no idea that they might wash the car. I`ve got the guy who is supposed to be one of the best on the Island of MontrĂƒ©al. I`ll ask about it when I make the appointment tomorrow.
Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.

You should have slapped him for saying acting like that. Freshly detailed means the car is a close to perfection as the paint/interior conditions allow.

No wonder Zeibart`s detail shops were in and out of the DFW area in less than 2 years.
