CarPro Reset in a Foam Lance ?

I`m not a huge fan of mixing chems....my POV is that I ain`t no chemist.
Granted, most soap shampoos are mainly just a functional agent of lubricity for your wash media.

Just tried Reset in a foam lance as I`ve read others suggesting it. Not sure how much mix those that recommended it were advising, as Reset itself is pretty concentrated, but it came out pretty paltry in my foam lance. Clean surface with film, did not help Reset to cling onto the paint - but the foam itself was more like just spraying micro bubble soap shampoo.

1st Pass - AF Avalance, HP Rinse
2nd Pass - Reset foam just to have boatload of suds, as I mechanically wash the winter mix off.
This did not work out as planned...

Reset is a great soap. Cleans and rinses really well. I like it alot. Plus it`s concentrated - aka, more room of my shelves ;-). I like concentrated products. They take up less space.

Anyhow, for those down and dirty jobs where I just want a decent layer of foam so when I wipe the panels, there is extra liquid to suspend the dirt and fall off as I agitate, methinks Reset is not the right soap for this application.

I hear ya. I used to use Reset in a foam gun pretty regularly on my Sable. I`ve never used it with a pressure washer, but worked decently in a foamaster foam gun.

I was more interested on the strong cleaners and residue-free surface it left behind when I was using it on coated or surface prep details before the decon steps or correction steps.

It sounds like you`re looking for the properties of a foam specific shampoo. Try McKee`s 37 Xtreme Foam Shampoo next time it`s on sale. I`m in the process of switching my primary shampoo to it because I love the foam and lubricity. Customers and people walking by love to see a car covered in foam, and I love the slickness. Win win

Out of a foam lance, in comparison to your pic, it would be quite frothy, but it`s just runny foam....
Reset will still remain my go 2 soap. It cleans damm well imo.

It just doesn`t do well in the foam dept. Interestingly though, it foams great in the bucket...

I`ll probably just use my 3D Pink for this application. The only times I really need some lather is when I`m dealing with the extra winter filth we have here and want to keep as much liquid/foam suspended and active as I scrub the panels...

I could never bear to do the latter with the whole foam the mitt as you wash.
Between a 3/4" hose, brass shutoff, etc - the wand heavy hand on the left would be something that I would probably fuss more with and end up having the hose touch the panel as I attempt that routine.

Ya to make money, it`s hard to beat 3D Pink

I have 3D Pink, McKee`s 37 Xtreme Foam, Pinnacle Bodywork and Marine 31 Wash and Wax on hand.

You may want to play with the soap mixture and the settings on the cannon. I have found I like most soaps with the cannon set to max soap but I only use 1-2 ounces of soap in the canon bottle, I find if I put more soap in the mix it seems to be to thick for the cannon to suck it up quickly and mix it with the pressure water. I use 1/2 a bottle on most avg vehicles and my Tundra crew max take 2/3rds and I can soap a whole rubbish truck with full bottle. Then again it may not matter some special purpose soaps just dont foam like Hydrofoam, I cant get that stuff to do more than a thin blah watery foam.

Some soaps just don`t foam well, and I knew that going in with my foam lance reset attempt.

Here goes to confirm, don`t believe everything you read in the internet ;-)
Granted water conditions play a role, but I uncovered umpteenth threads that suggested X amount of Reset as a prefoam.....
I`ve used reset for years, never as a prefoam though as my underlying knowledge premise was that it`s not a good foamer.
And yesterday`s test, confirmed that, for me at least..

Vega : don`t detail for dinero, so product cost per application I don`t calculate.....
3D is 1 oz per gallon
    Reset is 1 1/2 per 5

Foam aside, I just like Reset`s cleaning ability...

But there will be those times where I suppose I won`t use it when I want to do a froth-style wash.

OT, but for you mobile pro`s out there doing the foam thing. How do you guys deal with the post wash. Cause, well, I`m sure you know, some of these foams take forever to dissipate away. Especially if you are doing possible 2 cars on the job and all that foam that doesn`t seem to dissapear from the ground immediate

I used Reset and got great foam out of my lance. I may have used more soap than required as I just eyeball the amount I use. I remember the foam being very nice. Try adding a little more soap. Reset is my go to soap for all my cars with Ultima number two when I feel like a change. I`ve got at least 6 soaps sitting around waiting for me to try them, but I doubt anything can beat Reset.
