2015 Ford Mustang GT - Shadow Black

    Hey Autopia Fam

I got a referral call today from a customer who has a 2015 Ford GT in the solid Shadow Black. He is joining a local Ford Mustang group and wants the car ready for its debut.

Does anyone have any advice for me on how to handle the paint? I have not seen the car yet, I will be doing a consult with him on Friday to look over the car. I mostly work on Japanese/ European cars and this will be my first Domestic car (hopefully from this not my last)

Just wanted to pick some brains on here for those who have experience with Ford paint. I know there are plenty of variables but just looking for some guidelines/ insight.

    Thanks in advance,

    Ray

IME very soft clear. Corrects quickly but may require a third step to finish down, depending on what products you are using.

Thanks. Car looks fantastic. I really love Essence as a finishing polish/ AIO.

Will definitely take as many pics as possible.

Thanks! Depending on what the client wants to go for I was thinking if the paint is super soft I may be able to get away with Essence as a one step and then top it with a wax like BF black ice, or Dodo Juice Black Widow. Or I could go with BFWD + BFBI/ BFMS route. I guess ill need to wait to see the car first lol but this still gives me some great knowledge up front to have to decide how to tackle and conversation with the customer.

I have a few finishing polishes - Boss Perfecting Cream, M205, Menz sf3500, Sonax Perfect Finish, Essence to try.

What do you guys think I should use as an LSP on this? (if customer doesn`t want to do a coating)

I am very excited to work on this one.

Pending how bad it is may need to two step it with bf src polish with light to mid pad and then finish with essence. The essence will surely make it pop. If a mid pad then cp gloss pad with essence works go for it. I know the bf tps worked amazingly on a 2014 black stang I did

If you got time bfwdafpp topped with black ice for lsp

Thanks Civicclutch. I should have time for the bfwd/bfbi combo. this is his joy car not his daily so he said has no issue leaving it with me to make sure its done right.

Didnt take pictures of the full car but snapped a few shots of some of the defects. Spoke to the client for about an hour about the car and life in general. Super nice guy and very much into having it dialed in correctly.

Hes deciding on a full correction and coating. We are going to figure out when he can leave the car with me for a few days.
