Re: Post your favorite detailing product of 2016

hey folks... 10 year lurker - You`ve touched on my most used tool 2016
    Magic Eraser
External Black Rubber trim - it`s the only thing that really cuts surface oxidation with ease.. combined with APC is really a beautiful thing. Anyone with a Focus ST will thank me!
Under Door Handles.. nail and ring transfer be gone!
    Interior trim scuffs.. goodbye
    Interior Glass.. hello clean
Even used on paint to rid caked on tree sap that clay sponge wouldn`t remove!

ps.. love you guys. Keep being awesome!

Magic Eraser + APC = clean coated interior finishes. You have to be super gentle with the eraser though, as in putting barely any pressure on the eraser as it`s moved along the surface. This is my passenger seat in my 150K mile Lexus, a wipe down with APC sprayed on a micro would net the left side of the seat cushion (ten times out of ten) and the Magic Eraser/APC nets the right side of the cushion (camera point of view). What you see is the next level of clean.... As in the only level left is *sanitized clean*.

I`m not flaming you guys who do fine with the Magic Erasers, just, uhm...knowing my Threshold of Concern. Just more risk-averse than a lotta guys as I simply *can`t* damage stuff by finding out an approach isn`t Accumulator-proof the hard way. I`m just SO Abrasion-Paranoid

I`m with Accumulator on using Magic Erasers on paint: Just do not do it (in my humble experience). I will use it on hard plastic scuff marks, like that from shoes at bottom of door panels on pick-up trucks of hard-working construction personnel. Yes, it does abrade/scuff-up/dull the plastic, depending on how hard you scrub, BUT it also does remove the black scuff marks that stand out on lighter tan-or-grey-colored plastics. No, you cannot "cover" it up with plastic/vinyl protectant: it still looks dull/abraded, but it is cleaned.

You are one of the least sarcastic and judgemental forum members that I can recall. This particular forum (Autopia) is, in general, just a sweet and kind place to hang out, thanks in most part to members like you who exercise restraint and empathy when voicing concerns.

Thanks, but (not to take this off-topic ) just the other week I came across wrong and almost got in serious trouble here when something I posted was misconstrued as racist (people of all races who know me IRL would faint at the mere suggestion).

Hey, thanks for tweaking my attention there. I was so caught up in my "Magic Erasers are the devil!" attitude that I didn`t think to try one on a black transfer (long story) in the Tahoe`s light gray interior. That thing`s interior is...well, hey it`s the beater truck I saved..so "used" that any further damage won`t matter and just not seeing that black smear would be an improvement.

Note to self- Keep your mind a little more open.

That is why I joined this board a year ago. Accumulator is the sole reason I use FK1000.Post your favorite detailing product of 2016 To stay some what on topic. FK would be my 2015 favorite product.

I`ve added a bunch of stuff to the shelves this past year, but what has impressed me most are: 1) Griot`s PFM drying towels for their thirstiness, 2) McKees Glass coating, with durability measured in months rather than weeks and no need for wipers over 40 mph, 3) Microfiber Cutting Pads, both LC and B&S, and 4) D156 as a drying aid.
