Thank you glad you enjoyed it. Having all the right tools and having all the right tools in the right place makes a big difference. It`s all about efficiency.

BHB is awesome, but I always pre-foam if I`m going to use a BHB and go back around the car with a clay mitt to make sure I didn`t miss any pollen spots or tar. The BHB is too soft to remove that stuff, and running around the car quickly to spot remove that stuff is worth the trade off of using a hand mitt. But most of that stuff is on the front bumper anyways and a presoak with a bug remover handles that. Also I work top to bottom and "redunk" the BHB frequently.

Hydro2 in directly sunlight, small sections at a time, plenty of water to rinse it off, and diluted 1:5. I read a post by Robert DiTerlizzi (on detailing Facebook group) in which he dilutes Hydro2 1:7 and figured I`d try it between recommended (1:3) and 1:7. It`s been working great so far and drops the price of Hydro2 for me.

I use a pumice stone or some of Dan`s famous crevice tools (haha)

Hey what soap are you using for your washes?
Thanks, it`s actually the only type of hair removal tool I`ve ever used so maybe there`s something better I just haven`t used it yet lol. We carry the pumice stones so maybe I`ll pick one up and try it out. Sand is the biggest issue here. I`m contemplating an air compressor for a Tornador or Velocity Vac to make it easier. So far covering every square inch of carpet with the Max Vac is the only solution.

Optimum Car Wash. Great price (12 cents per ounce), cleans great, works great in a foam gun, rinses great. Can`t ask for much more.

I don`t think I have, at least not during a detail. We don`t have one here in the garage either. But I love my Max Vac except the small capacity. It`s got a lot of power and I`ve sold lots of Max Vacs to different detailers and they`ve all been happy. The hose is very easy to handle too. If you want to try one out you can always place an order here and return it if you don`t like it.

Next time you have to MAKE 4 happen! Businesses should be easy. Just offer a group discount. I`m considering bringing a friend next time and knocking out as many cars as possible.

    Great Mobile Detailing Weekend

That`s insanely crazy Ray. It takes me like close to two hrs to wash a car in my shop let alone outside like I did up till last fall which took longer. Maybe I`m to much a perfectionist.

And I can never just wax a car even if that`s what they want, I generally polish it at my cost of time, not a great practice I know

My next detail is going to be in a new apartment lot. Exterior polishing, so that will give me time to meet people and see if I can schedule more jobs hopefully!

Great work! How long does the 60 dollar detail wash and wax take you ?

If you know what is the total cost of product used on the detail. From what I see sixty bucks is a deal !

I couldn`t do all the work interior , exterior complete with wheels , hydro for sixty bucks and bank much ? It`s gotta take an hour and a half if your motoring.

I can take my time like I did on the Subaru, but can pick up the pace if I have to. I try to not take more than 1.5 hours on a wash and wax, but the first wash and wax I did on Saturday took me closer to 2 hours because of the interior and I almost ended up charging her more. I do always clay the glass during washing (quickly with a cobra clay mitt) because it takes almost no time and makes having streak free glass MUCH easier.

    Stop polishing for free! lol

Costs about $8 in supplies. Shampoo, APC, Tire Dressing, PB Leather Stuff and Glass Cleaner don`t cost much when you buy gallons at a discount. The most expensive costs are Hydro2 and FerreX. If you purchase a liter of Hydro2 (at 20% off) and dilute 1:5, it will cost around $2.80 per car. FerreX is about the same per car which I use as a wheel cleaner. That still leaves about $52 of meat on the bone after covering costs.

But the wash and wax packages are really there for maintenance on corrected cars, or for the initial hook into more expensive detail packages. I`d rather just work on a single car all day like I have scheduled in 2 weeks on a black Pontiac, but sometimes you gotta give the people what they want lol.

    Re: Great Mobile Detailing Weekend

Hydro2 is pure magic. If you are a detailer and have not tried it do yourself a big favor and buy some. I have not tried it at any dilution except 3:1. Do you think 5:1 will reduce the longetivity or the dirt repellancy of Hydro2? Is there any way you could do a follow up on the cars you used Hydro2 on at 5:1? Hydro2 is a great product with more manufacturers coming out with their copy. Of course Hydo2 is a copy of Tac Systems Water Glass, maybe rebranding would be a better word than copy.
