Are cliff notes available? I`m interested in main takeaways but probably don`t have time to read all that.

First off... if you don`t have time to read it, then you already have your mind made up or you really don`t care. Sorry if you feel otherwise. In all honesty, this was developed, in conception, for folks in my market interested in coatings but weren`t quite sure they were getting the straight sauce. Thus, my blog.

Richy- thank you for the kind regards. You have always been an inspiration to me for sure!

EDIT: This wasn`t `click bait`... you received legitimate information about coatings. I gave you my perspective and those of product experts and even asked them where a wax/ sealant would be beneficial vs. a coating. Cheese & Rice people!

THANKS. I enjoyed this. I`ve been wondering why I have never tried a coating, and one paragraph in your blog defined it for me. Below, in purple, edited for millennials.

"Secondly, some customers are very particular in how their vehicles appear at all times."... "a paint coating would not serve his interest well since the coating would be removed by the frequent polishing sessions."

yeah that`s me. I polish twice a year and I`m not a pro. The few cars I`ve been paid to do, no one knew the difference in a sealant or carnauba. In fact, they don`t know the difference between polish and wax. A coating must be a hard sell, but enthusiasts and/or high-line car owners are likely on-board

Mike has written about the need to polish a car more than once a year even garage queens if you want that show car look year round. Coatings imo are ill suited for such show car looking demands. They are better suited for people that don`t want to spend so much time messing with their cars paint

This is what it`s all about... glad you got something out of it. And totally agree... some times they make sense... sometimes they don`t. Get to know your customer`s lifestyle and expectations.... THEN go from there!

You bet silverfox. I think Corey mentioned one thing that really spoke clearly to me and I never thought of it this way.... in the interview he said (and paraphrasing here) that if you are looking for a coating to keep your car`s paint *perfect*.... then a coating may not be for you. I think this a huge takeaway and coatings have been portrayed, generally, that they will keep your perfect from any and everything... when that is clearly not the truth.
