Just get the Wolfgang pad cleaning spray. Makes cleaning pads stupid easy. Spray it on, brush it and allow to sit about 10 minutes. Then drop the pad into dawn water until you finish working. Run through the washing machine. Perfectly clean pads every time.

Simple Green is just fine for automotive use (and has been used for years). It is however strong enough to etch/pit soft metals like aluminum....BUT ONLY if left on quite some time before rinsing off. I use Simple Green all the time and have never had any trouble. Just dilute appropriate to the job to be done. Oh....and unlike many APC`s, SG is bio-degradable AND made in the USA!!!

Years ago I sprayed Simple Green on my F150 engine and had mud splatter on the underside of the hood. It was diluted but quickly turned the paint into a spotted leppard.
So I`ll say if your going to use it, read the directions and use only as directed.
