Re: What is your Ultimate Microfiber Lineup?

If the vast majority are made by those two companies I guess there wouldn`t be that much difference -- like detailing clay before the patent ran out.

So how about the other part of the question - how many types would you want for different purposes?

    I`d get 4 kinds.

    1. Cheap ones for interior, wheels, underbody, and for engine detailing
    2. Short nap towels for glass
    3. Long/Regular Nap for polish, wax, sealant removal
    4. Waffle weave for drying/liquids

Neither The Rag Company or Microfiber Tech are manufacturers, they are just importers and distributors. Ranney at PakShak in Hawaii was carrying the higher quality Korean towels more than a year before anyone else that I`m aware of jumped in. He us still one of the better sources for MF towels and deserves some credit for getting there first.

Ditto on RagCompany/Pakshak bringing great towels on the market. Distribution of car care microfibers can be dicey and confusing so find a place that really has unique offerings different from everywhere else.

Just ordered a few from Rag Co. Pakshak was crazy expensive shipping. Rag Co no tax and free shipping over $30 order :-)

Re: What is your Ultimate Microfiber Lineup?

My two favorites are Dry Me A River and the plush Edgeless from Detailed Image. I haven`t found a better Edgeless, including Rag Co Eagle. Although, the Eagle is good, just not as truly borderless as the DI towel.

As for silk or fabric banded towels, I`ve never found one that does it for me such that I`ve re-ordered the same towel twice. Some nice ones I have are DMT (Poorboys) and Kona Blue from ADS.

As as for my dream MF cabinet, it would have 50 Edgeless towels, 50 silk bordered 420s of some type, and maybe 30 Dry Me A River in all three sizes. I`d use the smallest Rivers as window towels. So far, I`m not a big fan of purpose-built glass cleaning towels. Nuff rambling!

If money wasn`t an option I would build my own MF factory and hire the best employees to help me manufacture what I want.

For mf towels, buy a few staples (dry, polish, wax), see what you like/ don`t like and build you stock up slowly.

    Hahahahaha. No jealousy here.

Welcome to Autopia, I see your first post was to accuse me of being jealous. Nice trolling.

I tried to watch these videos...but stopped. His garage is way too clean to have seen any real work or experience done there. I don`t think the tops of those benches have seen even a quart of oil or a dirty wheel brush ever.
