Large white areas on dark colored hood, car has been stored 6 months w/cover outside.

1978 Cadillac with dark brown exterior. I removed the car cover and saw several areas with what appears to be white stains. The stains have the fabric pattern from the car cover. The stains remind me of the rings you get on furniture from wet glasses. There is no clear coat on the paint.
Please advise how to remove them. Thank you.

Car covers often ruin paint when used outdoors. I think that`s what we`ll see when you post your fotos, Champ!

Looks like water spots from humidity forming under the cover. It happened to me some years ago on a 1993 Black Corvette. The dealer had to wet sand to get rid of the mess. I don`t know if it works the same on single stage paint. Pictures may not be enough to diagnose your problem. Time for expert intervention.

You may have water trapped IN the paint itself. Try using a heat gun with some IPA as a drying agent. Just take it easy and don`t let the paint get overly hot during the process.
