Does anyone care to share their soap-to-water ratio for clay lube? I was planning on using CG Citrus Wash and Clear or Meg`s NXT wash for the lube..but wasn`t sure how much to put inside my gallon of distilled water. 1/2 oz? 1 oz? 2 oz? Thanks in advance.

I use 100% water and nothing else. Works perfect for me.

I use 10:1 ratio with Meguiar`s #00 as my wash. It is probably the most neutral, gentle wash I`ve used and does not eat up or dissolve the clay. It is often used for wet sanding too.

Whatever you use, you can try a 10:1 ratio. Or, you can use a waterless wash like ONR. On a side note, I have been using ONR diluted to a QD ratio and spray each panel before I dry with a MF. It adds gloss and reduces towel induced marring.

I use a 1/8 oz per 32 oz spray bottle. It is very slick and had thick rich suds. The citrus is a good cleaner but I think a regular shampoo is slicker/ Unless you have a dark color car, I do not think it matters much.

    Here`s what Sal Zaino recommends:

"We suggest mixing one cap full of Z-7 Show Car Wash with water in a 16 ounce spray bottle. Z-6 also works as a lubricant for Z-18 ClayBar, but Z-7 Show Car Wash is much more cost effective."

And it works well for me.
