Ok, so I`m done with the paint of the race car trailer that I`ve been working on and all that remains is polishing the aluminum wheels and aluminum trim surrounding the trailer. Most of us are used to polishing only small portions of aluminum on most vehicles but what about aluminum of this much surface area? Oh and FYI, none of these are true "after" pictures. They`re mostly before/during shots.

I`m thinking I`ll just take the Mother`s Powerball Mini to the wheels but what about the surrounding aluminum trim? Should I just use some polishing pad and a lot of Autosol?

Dang that reminds me, I`m going to have to order some more Autosol soon for the aluminum. I`ve got some time as I won`t be touching the aluminum until after I`m done with my finals in two weeks. Please help! Thanks in advance, hehe.

Oh, and here`s a 50/50 of the trailer for your visual pleasure. It`s not the best photo but it`s what I could make the best of with my Sony P&S.

What about that guy who polished that Boeing 707 (former Air Force One) at an air museum a few months back? He had a crew of guys that polished a large amount of aluminum.

i use 4" pads and aluminum polish on my toyhauler/trailer trim (similar to the your working on). the front piece looks like it might be stainless and the trim is aluminum.

I`d go or a wool polishing pad and the metal polish of your choice and go to town. Thats what I do for those chrome/ polished bumpers.

Thanks for the response fellas! I`ll have to do some test-spotting to find out what works for this trailer.

I`d go with aluminum polish and 4" pads (Either orange or white). You may have to do multiple passes, but that would the way to go IMHO.

EDIT: I know it`s too late now, seeing as how you polished the paint first, but this product is great at removing the excess oxidation and gunk before you start polishing.
