I tried it last year. I thought it gave a better shine than Meg cleaner wax but really left a lot of dust on the surface and stained trim. Maybe the excess dust was just me putting it on too heavy.

The new Turtle Wax Ultra Platinum is very similar to the Emerald series but seems to have a better shine. I think it is more of a wax/poly mix.

I used a can of it about 2-3 years ago; it`s not bad, but it is a bit difficult to apply and (especially) remove. I also found it to stain trim pretty badly - overall, it`s nothing special. Though I haven`t tried it, it sounds like the new Turtle Wax is very easy to use and looks quite good, too.

I would disagree. In my experience, the new TWPUG is miles ahead of the old emerald series. Starting by the fact that few products regardless of price are as easy to apply or remove as the TWPUG, while the old emerald series was not exactly user application or removal friendly. The old emerald stained, the new PUG doesn`t. As far as looks, in a dark color the PUG is very glossy and deep, but maybe not by much. If you have the old one, give it away, the new one is at least 2 generations ahead. Try it.

    Really?!

I found it made darker colours lose all depth and gave it a plasticy silver sheen to it.

I had a lovely wet dark blue with SRP and EGP go silvery shiny blue, and the same with a metallic red with S100.

This is under indoor lights in a showroom...I haven`t compared out in the sun. But the immediate difference was dramatic! I was kicking myself.
