Folks, I`m going to leave the posts but remind all members that this forum isn`t here to advertise products and prices for other retail businesses. That said, remember that Autopia Car-Care will match any other retail site prices. Discussing products that Autopia doesn`t carry is perfectly acceptable but naming other sites/prices of products that ACC carries is not. Of course the Astra isn`t a product that ACC sells but the Scangrip product is. This forum is good to us, I`d hope we`d support the store when possible.
husky led isnt able to reproduce colors correctly, it washes out the machine lines on the wheels.... and the silver became yellow. you wont find all the swirls that way.
the difference is in the detail.
I`m interested but how come AG and Autopia don`t sell the color match 2s? Scangrip apparently has had second generation products for a while....

In the thread above at the time I only had the SCANGRIP Sunmatch.
It worked very well to do a 2017 Porsche 718 Cayman
After the success with the Sunmatch I purchased the SCANGRIP Multimatch Tripod Single.
This is a VERY professional piece of equipment. The light is solid and the tripod is really beefy!
You can light up the room putting way up on the tripod or in my case you can also use it by hand.
Although it is heavier than the hand held I use the handle on the back and easily hold it while I work.
Here`s how I look at the two lights...
The Sunmatch is my money maker...It`s Small, light, portable, works well, easy to show client swirls.
The Multimatch is my work maker...It`s a bit larger, lots of "color correct" light and it shows everything.
The nice things about the SCANGRIP Multimatch Tripod Single. It can be plugged in or runs on its own battery.
The tripod although really solid and beefy can fold up small and takes up very little real estate.
I can put the light on the tripod, hang it from my detailing cart and even use it hand held.

I am tempted to just get the whole kit if it can be applied to the 25% sale.
Mike Phillips on AG addressed this and said he talked to the Scangrip reps and they said the second generation was for painters looking for a light to color match paints and the second generation would not do more to aid Detailers looking for swirls and other defects. I believe the second generation is more costly.
Are you sure your just a hobbyist? I`ve seen some of your work and the amount of details you do
Well, it`s not extended yet....still ends tonight @ midnight.
It`s morning and I still want everything in my cart, probably going to spend the $ I just hope I have buyers remorse.

I hope you picked up a Sunmatch and Multimatch during the sale.
They are awesome tools.

That`s the point I was making. It terms of actual light output, you can get similar for far less money. However, the Scangrip shows a more accurate color and can be run off the battery. I like it more then the Husky LED for capturing defects in my before/after pics too, but the high price tag is still hard to swallow for a work light.
