    Hose Nozzle

Any ever see this (or try this) hose nozzle before??

Looks pretty cool. Almost like a power washer nozzle...

Neat design - it reminds me of a laser gun you`d see in a video game. Besides, that I don`t see how it`s any different than a regular pistol nozzle with an adjustable tip?

Different than a pistol nozzle because when you "throw" your hose down - it wouldn`t engage the handle on the nozzle and get you soaked. Happens to me at least once when I wash my cars.

You`re right about the design. It does look very cool but I`ve always wondered if those dials on the back of nozzles such as this didn`t restrict the water flow a bit.

I`m in the market for a new nozzle and had my eye on a stainless fireman`s nozzle by Bon-Aire but I came across this one while searching. I like the fact that the pistol grip is inside the handle rather than outside. Seems cheap enough to try...

Gotcha. I usually "hook" my pistol grip on the side of my bucket between uses - that way I avoid the thrown down hose > blast of water to the face (been there, done that enough times) plus the nozzle doesn`t get dirty. Give this one a shot (hehe) and let us know what you think

    Re: Hose Nozzle

I use the firemans nozzle from here. IMHO it`s great.

I also drop mine (instead of placing it down, lazy I guess), between that and the louse water in fl, my last one lasted over 3.5 years. (remember my driveway is textured concrete, so it does tear up the plastic coating a little on handle, but not on nozzle)

    Re: Hose Nozzle

Wonder if it`s comfortable and convenient to use.

Eh, I still always end up going back to using the plastic female quick-disconnect with an integral shutoff (looks like a gray &green plastic mushroom), directly downsteam from a full-flow plastic shutoff (which is connected to hose via my brass q-d fittings). I set the water flow with the q-d`s shutoff and control the on/off with the other one, which I operate with my thumb. When it comes to washing vehicles, I STILL haven`t ever found a hose nozzle that I prefer over that setup. AFAIK I`m the only person here doing it this way, can`t seem to convince anybody to try it..guess it just sounds too screwy.

    Re: Hose Nozzle

I still prefer a twist on-off , adjustable spray pattern brass nozzle because when I do drop it after twisting it off, I generally do not get wet. My problem is that when I do drop them on the concrete driveway, IF they fall on the tip, they can crack the inner nozzle-forming tip. I`ve had two different China Made nozzles, and they ALL leaked at the base from poor quality control due to ill-fitting parts. You get what you pay for.
I was lucky enough to find a really nice old American-made brass nozzle at a rummage sale (for a dollar!) that worked for about three years, but it too, had succumbed to the constant dropping on the concrete.

llydrm- I wonder if it`d turn on if dropped a certain way.

I *do* like the looks of the q-d set in their pop-up though.

    Hose Nozzle

I actually just use a ball valve at the end of the hose. I can get a stream by partially opening or get a nice clean stream for sheeting water off at the end

    Re: Hose Nozzle

I still haven`t found anything more convenient than these rubber nozzles. Water only flows when you bend it and shuts off when you let go--no problem if you drop it and you can control the amount of flow by how much you bend the nozzle. And it`s rubber so no worry about damaging your paint if you should happen to touch the finish. I think I only paid $10 for mine, but that was 20 years ago--still working like a charm.

pwaug- THANK YOU! It`s like you read my mind...last time you posted about those I saved the link but then lost it in a PC crash (and my search-Fu is so weak ).

Accumulatorette bought me one to replace the OLD one that finally died, but it`s not to my liking...too easy to get too much water out of it.
