    1991 911 coming tomorrow ... tips?

I got a random call today for a quick detail on a red 1991 Porsche 911 that will be photographed tomorrow afternoon locally

The owner wanted to get a wash, wax and engine wipedown.

I`m not really concerned about the paint as I`m not polishing and plan to just use a PA spray (possibly over black hole) but I was not sure if I should try to avoid any types of products in particular...it`s a `91 so I presume that`s two stage clear coated paint, right? He said it was original paint.

I don`t exactly know what I can use if it`s not, since I have only worked (and only prefer to work) on clear coated modern type painted cars.

so that`s the first potential concern

second is the engine- now I told the owner I would not be using water to clean the engine bay so if it`s that dirty I would not even want to take the engine on..he said it`s well maintained he just wanted it touched up

so I figured if PA Engine won`t work then I`d use a damp RW cloth or something similar if necessary

It`s pretty much just a quickie but I have no idea what to expect with this vehicle.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks

    here`s the plan

plan A is if it can be RW

plan B is if it has to be 2bm

A- RW, black hole, Rapidwaxx, PA engine, PA Supersport and odds/ends as seen fit
B- Glissante, black hole, Rapidwaxx and same as above

if in good condition skip the black hole and opt for Gold Zirkon OR High Gloss instead of RapidWaxx

an express wash fit for my favorite style of Porsche ever

    issues?

The rubber on them older Porsches hold on to wax/polish residue (if it turns white) like a pitbull holds on to....anything.

So if the stuff your using isn`t trim safe, avoid touching it!

Funny^^^ and true for me too I probably don`t see more than 10-15 a year.

Only tip I have for 512 is to take a lot of photos if time permits

Paint will be single stage. I think your plan of attack is solid Brandt. If you can go waterless do that.

"if in good condition skip the black hole and opt for Gold Zirkon OR High Gloss instead of RapidWaxx" I think you said it was red. If so it should explode if in good shape with the GZ brother!!!

Engine: just watch out for the distributors/coil packs and boxes and you will be OK. Kinda tucked up in there so not much to `see`.

Trim, yes, as JustJesus said, be wary of getting product on it, it can be difficult to remove.

Hope this and the PM helps ya out!

Thank you. Zirkon (edit: or high gloss) it is then.

I am hoping to use as little water as necessary but the weather is 50/50 tomorrow and he said they live on a dirt road, so I`m guessing we`re talking about two buckets and some soap which does not sound ideal so just hoping for no typical surprises.

One would assume if someone is taking a photo shoot, it may be in decent shape, but we all know how that goes.

Then there is also the chance it will rain out tomorrow so there`s that. lol

Why the "or"? Clay and IronX don`t necessarily do the same thing. If I could choose only one, it`d be clay, without hesitation.

They live on a dirt road? That was a non starter for me when I was looking at houses, I could not handle the daily dust and dirt from a dirt road. My work is bad enough, its paved but with 20 trash trucks driving over it all day it gets pretty messy.
