Duragloss 301 Tonnaeu Cover & Vinyl Convertible Dressing

I have a Truxport tonnaeu cover on the truck. I had been using 303 Aerospace Protectant but it seemed short lived and seemed to attract a lot of bugs. Since I`m using DG sealants (105/111) I thought I would give DG 301 Tonnaeu Cover & Vinyl Convertible Dressing a try.
By the next day (bottle says 24 hours to cure) there was a `like new` sheen and no bugs. I`ll come back to report durability as I`m not sure yet how it holds up to weather and washes.

Thanks for the feedback! It does look like new again. How did you apply it?

I used a gizmo called `Windshield Wonder` - a mini microfiber wrap on an extension that I have dedicated for the tonnaeu cover (I have another one for the windshield). After a good shake, I pour some product on the cover then spread evenly with the tool from one side, then the other.

That definately looks good. I would think the durability will be good also but you never know, one thing for sure, you will be the first to know.

    MiVor -

Finally !!! A new solution to this problem for all who have or had a Tonneau cover on a truck !

I also went through many products including 303 Aerospace, which just ran off the sides of the truck by the next day...

Next time I get one to do or have another F150 Lightning, I will give this a try..

Your choice of application tool and the result are really nice..
    Thanks

Awesome tool !!!! Definitely going to look into something like this for the tonneau on my Dodge Ram truck .

Extremely interested to see how this works and last for you. I did mine with 303 few times but first rain its gone (same on my boat seats). Last time i used BLACKFIRE Total Trim & Tire Sealant on all my plastics and my tonnaeu cover, seems to work better the hard the material. real hard plastics i love it medium plastics works well soft plastics ok rubber takes a lot product and results are eh, with vinyl (tonnaue) looked great going on and for week or so but seems to attract and really hold onto any dust that hits it dosnt clean easily either once its on it. last 2 times I washed it tonnaue still looked dirty after think I have to really scrub it with an apc t get it clean yet on my front bumper hard plastics rinse clean still with just the power washer and bugs dont stick att all and it beads well. I will have it in the arsenal until I can find something that either works better or is more versatile but for now its best I ahve used on hard plastics. cant wait for your up dates thanks for the review!

I have a friend who says he accidentally discovered his favorite tonneau cover dressing. I just tried to call him but he`s busy at work so I`ll find out tonight the details. He told me this story a few months ago. If I remember correctly...he was playing around with different products on different sections of his cover. He accidentally applied Vinylex Marine & RV Protectant on top of another protectant and he said it outlasted every product he`s ever used. Now he applies one dressing (I think it was a duragloss product) and allows it to dry before topping it with Vinylex Marine & RV Protectant and he`s been happy ever since.

I`ll find out tonight what he used.

I just did a single coat but eventually I`ll test two layers just to see what it does. I`m thinking I`m gonna use this stuff on the hot tub cover too!

I continue to be very happy with this product - gives a sheen and a slick feel that doesn`t wash off like 303 seems to. I did go ahead and put it on the hot tub cover, but got some flack for it from the wife...sometimes when playing with the dog, a ball gets tossed off the deck, the dog retrieves, comes back and jumps up on the hot tub cover...after treating with the DG product, the dog nearly slid off the top! (Frankly, I don`t want her up there anyway, no matter how much `others` think it`s cute! ....shhh)

Not much new to report - I continue to like the product. Black vinyl seems to get chalky pretty quickly....perhaps just the sun`s effect on black. To me, this product adds a synthetic layer resulting in a like new sheen. It holds up well at a month or more, but I didn`t really test for ultimate durability.
Also, I`m in the Northeast and not the sun belt so results may vary. All I can say is that like other DG products I`ve become fond of, I`ll continue using it.
