    Ultrasonic cleaning wheel lugs

I made a shorter edit of my long wheel cleaning video just showing my wheel lug bolt cleaning experiment. I learned that the ultrasonic cleaner interferes with recording audio.

Bal- A Belated "Welcome to Autopia!"

Now that they`re clean, I`m wondering about future maintenance. Are they exposed/visible? I`m guessing "not" as that protective spray might be gone once they`ve been cleaned, or if it`s *not* removed, could retain dirt.

    Accumulator - thanks.

The hex head of the bolt is visible. The Ballistol is supposed to be non-sticky even after a while, so we`ll see what actually sticks to it. When the wheels were back on and the lugs secured, I hit the whole thing with CarPro Hydro2. It will be interesting to see how well they fare over time.

    Re: Ultrasonic cleaning wheel lugs

Bal- Ah, that *will* be interesting! On exposed lugs that I care about (i.e., not the ones for the A8`s winter wheels) I`m all nutty about wrapping them with plastic before torquing on `em etc. etc. First thing I do on lots of used cars is buy new lugs because the edges are always [messed] up with chipped/worn areas.

Some metal-protectant products do dry pretty "clean", sorta surprises me but what works, works.
