A buddy of mine left his window open during Hurricane Charlie and now has a mildew musty smell in his car. what would be the best way to go about taking care of this the carpet and upolstry are now dry but the smell remains. Any ideas

To completely get rid of the odor, you will need an odor fogger or an ozone machine. If either of those are not available, Top of the Line sells odor bombs and an anti-microbial spary called Microban, which might help. The Micro ban can be sprayed on carpet and fabrics, or injected into the padding material.
first make sure he vacuums all the moisture out...and then park the car in the sun and open the windows slightly, letting the interior heat up and the remaining moisture evaporate...then I would spray natural look lightly on the carpets and then blott with a cotton towel

drying it out in the sun will be only short time results. if it gets damp in the car for any length of time, the odour will return....
find an Ozone machine and borrow it for 24 hrs. (find one from a fire/flood restoration biz)
