    Removing Concrete Splatter from Paint

I received a call from a lady that has concrete splatter on her paint and bumper and wants it removed. I did a search and found a previous thread but those items looked like they would have to be special ordered. Is there an OTC product that I can buy that will work that is safe? I just didn`t want to wait for an order if there is something I could buy OTC. Sorry no pictures I haven`t even seen the vehicle yet myself just going off conversation.

acetone is one that I`ve used to remove concrete...soak an old rag and lay over the area so that it can dissolve that concrete then, wash that area off with soapy water...DO NOT clay that area until you know that all of the concrete is removed...

Where can you get that did a quick search at Wal Mart, Home Depot and Auto Zone and came up empty. Does it come off fairly quickly with that?

I recently used acetone to remove super glue from black paint and it seemed that with all the rubbing that I did that there was no paint transfer on to the cotton towel that I used. Sorry I have no experience with the concrete though, TD

    Use this stuff......

You can get it from topoftheline.com

I have it and used it several times. WORKS WONDERS! It takes a few applications. Plastic razor blades are your friend.
When using it, make sure you put down plastic sheeting over your driveway, or you will leave white spots. Don`t ask me how I know.

edit, I know you didn`t want to order a product, but if she can wait, this product is well worth it.

I can`t say that its not aggressive on paint but you want to dissolve the concrete on the paint, not rub it in anyway. The clear might dull a tad but that can be polish out with no issues.

I have used acetone many times but not for this I used it as a paint remover.
I don`t know of any product that will remove paint as fast and easy as acetone.

I never tried to remove concrete from paint hope I`m never faced with that but I know I would not use acetone.

I do know that clear coat holds up to acetone much better than single stage paint.

SS paint will dissolve very quick

I would not worry too much about the chrome bumper or the rubber but be careful on the paint.

97 should be CC so it will hold up much better if you are careful you should be ok but I would not try it on a SS paint.
You may want to look into buying a product made just for that purpose repainting a tailgate would be $500.00 or more

Re: Removing Concrete Splatter from Paint

Update - customer brought the truck over this morning and it stormed all night. I noticed that the concrete was running with the rain a little bit. I decided to try to scratch of the specs with my fingernail instead of trying to use the Acetone. It worked well and didn`t scratch the paint I used a brush on the bumper and everything turned out ok. Sorry no pictures but he was amazed with the results. I will be doing his wifes Trailblazer next week! I did buy the acetone though so I am sure I`ll need it for something down the line.
