What`s your favorite tire dressing and applicator?

I`m looking to upgrade from Vinylex via foam wax applicator and i`m looking for a better applicator and better dressing for my fair-weather ride and would love to hear your input. I`m thinking adams dressing applicator and poorboys BnB. Any thoughts?

I prefer Bnb and TOL Hi-Temp Grape dressing. If applied properly neither will sling & both give me the look I prefer.

I bought an applicator from TOL that works great on anything greated that a 45 series profile tire. It applies just enought dressing & works especially well on tires that have a textured (not "clean" or smooth sidewall). It rotates, has a yellow knob for a handle & cost about $10. Pad refills are available.
There`s a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness".

I agree on BnB - as far as applicators go, my vote is for ADAM`s foam pads. The best thing ever & they are little $$$

I like to use BnB with a 2" foam paint brush.

Re: What`s your favorite tire dressing and applicator?

Mind you I think Vinylex is better then what I use. I stopped using because local supplier went under and since the cost was high already, mail ordering it wasn`t something I was going to do.

I use a water based dressing (I think #501) by Dealers Choice which is carried by my Auto Magic rep. $15 a gallon (less in 5 gallons). For application I use my old tire / wheel brushes which are tan 9" with green bristles. A bulk of my business is washes and I found this to be the fastest way I could get the dressing on the tire regardless of tire tecture. I spray the dressing on the brush.

Recently I`ve been trying BNB on my cars and a few regulars. Very pleased with that. Still testing though so don`t know whether or not I`ll spend the money to use it all the time.

The Michelin Tire Shine has been working well for me. It has pretty good durability, a nice matte look, doesn`t sling. Before that I was using the Teflon Tire Shine, which worked very good also. Both are available locally.
I still don`t believe in grit guards.

Just finished using Meg`s #40, not bad. I`ve also been using Tropi-Care`s Tire/Rubber Dressing (New Stuff), lasts forever. Next, I will start using Adam`s Knockout. Favorite app. would be EO Tire Swipe for SUVs.

I`m using a water based product made by a local supplier. For the application I use a grouting natural sponge, that is square shaped and spreads really even. See the attached pic they go for about 2 bucks each. They also come very similar to PC pads different hardness for various uses, see the link for that.

Another vote for Poorboy`s Bold N Bright!

Absolutely no sling, nice finish, affordable, not messy like gels. :jump

Red face Re: What`s your favorite tire dressing and applicator?

I like Poorboy`s Bold `n Bright applied with this sponge applicator .
I let it sit for about an hour before driving
    - haven`t had any problems yet with slinging
but I have heard of some people who prefer
a slightly more "matte" look wiping it down after 15 or 20 minutes.
Don`t it always seem to go, you don`t know what you`ve got til it`s gone?

Re: What`s your favorite tire dressing and applicator?

After I`ve washed and used my Meguiar`s foam applicators a couple times after using them for waxes/polishes, I clean them really well again and use them for the tire dressings. I`ve gotten into the habit of using a rubber glove when applying using those applicators.
