Hi all.
What a great place! Looking forward to learning as much as possible. Waiting on a new 335xi BMW to take care of, expected delivery October 2007. Great job David!

Welcome Alex! That is a great car to be waiting for. I hope you requested that the dealer does not prep the car for delivery?

Thanks. How bad is it, if they do so? Does it make the first "detail" application that more difficult? I am new to this so pardon my inexperience!

The detail shops at dealerships are notorious for causing more problems than they solve, so much so that there's the occasional joke about "dealer-installed swirls". While there are exceptions, it's pretty rare that a dealership can even pull off a simple wash without introducing some marring; they just don't use good tools and techniques.

The less prep-work the dealership does, the better, IMO.
