A newbie Hello from Houston, Texas

Hello all,

The name is Ryan I'm new to detailing. I've been lurking around here and the meguiar's board to learn more about detailing. By far I feel this board is more unbiased towards the use of other detailing products out there. And there are a slew of them! I hope to learn more from you veterans out there. I ordered my PC 7424 last week and i'm ready to rock and roll!

I found this in the sticky above:

We want to hear your story. Let us interview you with the following questions:

1. How did you wind up at Autopia? I'm a member of G35driver.com and some members mentioned this site. I've also been wanting to use a PC but was too scared too.
2. What do you like most about detailing? As I'm new to the process I love how it can make a black colored car look so NICE!
3. What are your favorite products/processes and why? So far I've used mostly Megs stuff as it's readily available. Gold class makes my Black car shine nice even if I haven't waxed in a year!
4. What's your dream car and why? 997 Porsche Turbo, you can actually make the car a daily driver unlike a Ferrari with their astronomical maintenance fees
5. What's the best thing you learned on Autopia? Hmm...the opinions of the OTC products out there....i.e. WW towels at Wal-mart or Vroom MF's at Target. It's helped me save some money for quality products.
6. What are some of your other hobbies and interests? Muay Thai kickboxing/MMA, other sports, video games, lifting weights
7. Do you have any pets? If so, types, names, pics. My dog died years ago and no pics...but I have my gf's bulldog so i guess it's kinda mine too...
8. Name three secret techniques that you think you should share to fellow Autopians.Don't have any just yet but I will
9. Where are you from and where do you live now?born and raised in the great U.S.A. nationality is Filipino and live in Texas
10. What was you first car and what got you interested in keeping cars perfect? My current car: black 04' G35 coupe
11. What motivates you to detail?Well due to the "dealer installed" swirls. I can't take it anymore! That and the bird poo...uggg!!!
12. Would you ever pay someone else to detail your car? Thought about it but too expensive and no self satisfaction
13. Does detailing run in the family at all, or are you the only normal one?I'm the nonly normal one
14. What is your favorite part about detailing? The results.
15. If detailing is a hobby for you, would you like to do it full time, or do you feel that it would take the fun out of it?I would like to do this as a side gig but time and full-time job traveling is an issue

In addition to these interview questions, we'd also like to see your picture. Sorry I don't have a pic but after 10 posts i'll put one up

Sorry everyone for the lengthy post! Good to meet ya'll!!!!

Ryan

Welcome to Autopia! You will truly enjoy this board as the members are very sincere and more than willing to share their knowledge (if you haven't already noticed).

Good luck with your black G. Do some research on the site to find out what processes work best and go to town.

Just remember that you will soon become an addict... <--- don't say you weren't warned
