Question Newbie New Zealand

Hi, I'm Mark, originally from Leicester, UK, now living in Palmerston North in New Zealand since last year.
Like most people I came across this site researching detailing and trying to find an alternative to the Porter Cable as I can't find it here. My choice it seems is to import one, or to get a sander such as a Bosch 400AEX but the rpm is too high. There are rotary's but as a novice a rotary I feel is too ambitious. Any ideas if there is an alternative to the PC?
Secondly, Meguiars and other retail stuff has cornered the market it seems in NZ. I would like to try Poorboys or similar but don't know where to shop other than importing from the US. Failing that the alternative is 3M products I've found locally.
Advice welcome; is there an alternative to import it in?? Is this an opportunity for becoming a distributor? Any distributors out there care to share??

Mark

Re: Newbie New Zealand

any recommendations for an import supplier that will wholesale? shipping and duty would be a problem. I enquired with poorboys but I wasn't able to get a breakdown of trade prices and products so no idea the return on investment. anyone know what I should pay trade so I can retail. New Zealand cost of living low so prices need to be keen.
