We want to hear your story. Let us interview you with the following questions:

1. How did you wind up at Autopia?
Link from a BMW site
2. What do you like most about detailing?
The results and the satisfaction of doing it myself
3. What are your favorite products/processes and why?
I try different detail sprays but am hooked on the Klasse Twins
4. What's your dream car and why?
My current one. E36 M3 convertible
5. What's the best thing you learned on Autopia?
How to properly detail! I learned about the mistakes I've made
6. What are some of your other hobbies and interests?
Golf, wrenching my car, investing
7. Do you have any pets? If so, types, names, pics.
yes, pom/chihuahua mix. pics to come
8. Name three secret techniques that you think you should share to fellow Autopians.
Lay on the sealant in *very* thin layer and buff out immediately! That's all I can think of. You guys are the experts!
9. Where are you from and where do you live now?
Born and raised in PA but have lived in NYC and NJ for parts of my life
10. What was you first car and what got you interested in keeping cars perfect?
VW bug. Finally getting a car with a clearcoat finish and finding products that were actually easy to apply and worked
11. What motivates you to detail?
Pleasure of getting looks when I drive
12. Would you ever pay someone else to detail your car?
Nope
13. Does detailing run in the family at all, or are you the only normal one?
Some consider me abnormal because I have the detailing bug!
14. What is your favorite part about detailing?
I like the learning experience. Plan to get a PC soon. Now, I just have a second hand buffer.
15. If detailing is a hobby for you, would you like to do it full time, or do you feel that it would take the fun out of it?
Nope. I'd love to do this full time

Pleasure to meet you all

Re: New Member - Pennsylvania

hi there - i'm just down the road from you by Penn National. wooo hooo - slots

i used to work in a few detail shops way back in the day (like 1992 dude ) and have been starting to get back into the swing of things.

last year my wife bought me a cyclo - and i love it. i tried a pc, but just in trying it out for a little bit, it really bothered me with all of the vibrations and whatnot. if you ever want to give the cyclo a try, let me know, and we can meet up at your place or whatever

similar to yours, my first car was a 74 super beetle (i still have it, and one day in the next year or so, it should resemble my avatar) and i'm pretty big into the vw scene around here.

see you around!

and

Brian

Brian, thanks for the offer and welcome. I'm actually a few miles from you - in Linglestown. Glad to know there is a local here and please explain what a cyclo is! I'm getting ready to detail the M3 after it's 6 months in storage.

simple description:
imagine a large aluminum dual 4" headed PC - and that's a cyclo. i guess you could say it falls inline between the pc and a rotary.

Welcome to Cyclo Toolmakers, Inc.

here is a bunch of posts about them, and what they do, and all that jazz.
