Hey from South Mississippi

Hey yall,
First off this is a great site with alot of good information. I'm hoping to get some help with a love bug problem on my wifes car. Its a 04 black Toyota Camry. The whole front bumper, front of the hood, front of the roof, and and the upper corner of the L and R front fenders have small white spots. Its where the bugs sat there forever and ate into the clearcoat (I think?). I should have a PC 7424 here at the end of the week. Hopefully yall can give me some good advice on how to conquer this problem later on down the road. After I get a few things together, I will post some pics and a new topic in the appropriate area. Thanks, Jonathan

Re: Hey from South Mississippi

Welcome to Autopia Jonathan! Congratulations on the PC purchase as well.

Unfortunately your love bug damage may be permanent. Love bugs are nasty little creatures. If they are left sitting on the paint for any period of time they tend to make etch marks and spots that usually can not be fixed (besides respray). Claying and polishing *may* help some but generally on the plastic areas it is hard to correct much damage.

The bright side is that you will have a PC to make the rest of the car look great. With some polishing and cleaning you can make the rest of the car look so good that only you will notice the love bugs burial sites

We are happy that you found the site. Be sure to look around and research through all of the help topics up top. Also be sure to search the forums for anything you may wonder because more than likely someone has already mentioned it.
