New post-er but long time visitor.
I'm not a pro detailer, etc. just a weekend warrior that enjoys detailing.
My products and order of application:
Westley's Bleche White - tires - apply dry - sit one minute
Dupont Teflon Wheel Cleaner - apply dry - sit one minute
(now switch to separate mitt)
my nozzle is a basic green fan/style garden plant watering thing (it sheets easy and spreads out nice - i don't like trigger sprays as they hit too hard and aerate the soap resulting in stubborn removal)
Eagle One car wash - prefer red to blue
Tried MF mitt and will return to cotton or sheepskin next time.
Dry with the Absorber but feel it's not hands down better than terry towel.
Clay Magic - cut into 4 squares for 4 1 time uses - will dilute the solution next time.
apply blue painter's tape to cover porous plastic parts
P21s paintwork cleanser - applied back and forth motion

Meguiar's NXT glass cleaner - applied and taken off with separate cotton polishing cloths
occasional Rain-X and Mother's Back to Black
Not impressed with Mr. Clean Magic Eraser - left minor scratching in plastic - but it did ok on tar on my wheels.
Not impressed with Mequiar's Scratch X - but maybe I applied to heavy on a beaten paint job.
Mequiar's wax is easier to apply than Mother's.
20/20 window cleaner was good.
I've got a 2005 Grey Ford Escape - company car.
I way prefer doing the outside as opposed to the interior.
I try to remember the 2 bucket method.
I hope to get a PC 7424 but have no idea what I'd be getting myself into. (hope it'll be more thorough and quicker)
I believe regular washing is the primary/easiest and best way to keep a detailer's car super clean.
I wash (every 1/2/or 3 weeks) and wax (every 4-6 weeks) from late March to late Nov.
I don't use
tire shine.
I find washing and waxing therapeutic.
I'll occasionally detail a friend's car for free. (I take pride in the dramatic before and after effect.)
I apreciate other people's clean cars. (have been known to graze the back of my hand on a random clean car in the parking lot to see how recently it was waxed)
My brother's got a black '89 944turbo in the DC area and is in the Shenandoah Region PCA (Porsche Club of America). He drives it to / on / and from the track on the same tires!
My dream car is the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish.
My GOAL with this website is to settle on the best products for each job, to adopt the best technique, and to reduce time invested during each detail so I can have the cleanest car fastest.
