New guy here!!!! Long post but Im on detail overload!!!

Damn i cant stand to find any new forums that interest me! All joking aside this forum like all others ive come across is a absolute wealth of information. Ive been on overload every since i started to visit on a daily basis.

Great forum, seem to be great and very knowledgeable members here. Also very willing to help with the average joe such as myself.

A little background, ive been detailing for a few years but never knew it was an actual art form untill finding this forum. Ive used all the Wal-mart advanced auto parts stuff you can think of for years. Then i found Zaino, the almighty Zaino. I used it until i found Tropi-care and i hadnt looked back since. I really love how easy the application of the tropicare is and the results are as good IMO as Zaino. Then i found autopia.org and now there are tons of products im wanting to try.

Poorboys looks good, optimum loods good. Menzera (dont know if i spelled that right) damn there are just to many. I will shut up for now but will have questions for the future, keep up the good work guys I look forward to learning alot around here.

Welcome! I joined Autopia just over a year ago when I knew nothing about detailing. By May I had my own cards printed out and detailed about 3-5 cars a month. I visit autopia on a daily basis, we did a remodel of our garage to support my detailing needs, and my credit card hates me

I started out on the PC and now I use the cyclo. If I could give you one word of advise it is to not get caught up in trying all these great products you hear about. There are so many products for the same purpose it really comes down to personal preference. And not always is it that the more expensive products yield the best results. Duragloss is a great example of this, basically mimics the results of Zaino for a fraction of the price.

How do you like your cyclo over the pc. I was dead set on getting a pc at some point but after reading on here a little bit i think the cyclo may be the way to go.

If I could do it over again I would just go straight towards the cyclo. Be it at the cyclo does have it's limitations as to where it can reach on certain cars, I have never had a problem on the vehicles I have detailed. The cyclo does not bog down, is a dream to handle, and in my opinion makes paint correction more enjoyable and a little quicker. Another benefit that I especially like is the polishes finish down almost perfectly...On my PC I could never get the hang of breaking down a polish completely without leaving micromarring. Now I can jump from Hi-Temp Extreme Cut down to FPII because of how nicely these polishes and the machine help break them down.

Hope this helps a little...There are a lot of people here with the cyclo and I don't think I have read of anyone being unhappy with their decision to purchase.

Now I was under the impression (just an assumption) that the cyclo worked like an orbital buffer? meaning you could burn the paint? is this not true?

You can´t burn the paint with a cyclo. It´like a PC but with 2 heads.
