Talking New to the forum, not new to detailing.

Just wanted to say hey and introduce myself.

First off, I have always been into cars. All different types. Mostly American muscle cars and all generations of German made cars. However, I can appreciate any tasteful, clean, well thought out car of any make/model, stock or modified.

I have owned a few different types of cars since I first started driving and they have ranged greatly in makes and models. From fast to slow. From new to old. However, the one thing they all had in common... they got lots of love from me when it came to detailing. They all had perfect paint and detailed form top to bottom. I don't know why, but to me, if a car is clean, it makes all the difference in the world.

I have always taken care of my cars with different products (mostly Meguiar's) but I never really got into the difference between polishes, waxes, sealants...blah, blah, blah, until I found the Autopia How-To. It opened up a whole new world to me. Before, I always just used the products in the steps that were marketed and I never used a machine. I never really knew when to use each product for what thoguh. However, now that I found this great resource, I know when to use what and where to use it. It made the detailing experience more time efficient and produced better outcomes. I have also finally found the uses for a machine buffer. My Jetta outshines any car around town and doesn't have a scratch on it.

Anyway, HEY!

Welcome! Congrats on your Jetta, I have one too and it is absolutely gleaming. People look at me funny when I wax it so much. Someone in my neighborhood asked me why I put so much effort into an entry level Volkswagen. I kindly reminded him that Volkswagen has been consigned to build and paint bodies for the Porsche Cayenne and the upcoming 4 door sports sedan. I also commented that Volkswagen belongs to the Bentley, Porsche, Audi, Lamborghini family. Then I politely Asked him why his 2007 Lexus was such a filthy mess and already swirled to hell. I hope you get what you are looking for here at Autopia, happy polishing!
