Hi All,

just joined the forums, hoping to get some great ideas and hints/tips on how to use my new porter cable polisher which I have just ordered.

I have a Mazda MX5, what most of you will know as a Miata.

I am new to using the porter cable so any good hints tips and howtos will be well received.

it's just a pain that I have to import stuff like this, no one in the UK seems to make a decent polisher, they think we are happy with the rubbish from halfords.

anyways, just a quick hello

Gazza, where did you find the PC in the UK? My brother lives in London and is having a hard time tracking one down.

I bought it from autopia and got it sent over the pond.

delivery was quick, apart from ParcelForce sat on it for a few days as they are thick.

Spent the weekend practicing - first on my car, very lightly, and then on a old mk1 mx5, really bad paint - came up a treat, and that was using the not so great polish and wax I have at the moment. I then did my parents MGTF, which has never been waxed, and impressed them with the lack of swirls and the lovely water beading action

I have to have a better go at my car to remove the bigger scratches, but so far I am soooooo impressed with the results - my velocity red looks mostly better than new...

Nice reflections mate. I have never seen that color on a Miata, or maybe I have but they have been in such bad shape that they always look orange, is that "True Red"? What polish did you use?

Yal, it is a limited edition, Velocity Red, it is shiny :-)

Polish is Meg's #83 and the wax is Chemical Guys XXX hard core paste wax
