Newb here (sort of...)

I've been lurking for quite some time, ordering stuff, watching threads, etc. I knew it was time for my first post when my wife said, "I don't know who your new friends are online, but I think we have enough car supplies now."

I've been detailing (as a hobby and for friends and family) for 15 years or so, and it has come a long way in that time. This site has opened my eyes to the PC and what a great tool it can be. Using the advice from the site, my arsenal includes OC, OP, NB, EX-P, a bunch of Meg's stuff, PC + pads, MF's, etc. I am in Chicago, so I try to enjoy every 40 degree afternoon in the garage with my toys. As it gets nicer out, I have an 05 Jetta (silver), 99 Altima (black), and this Mustang to work on as my projects:

It was repainted several years ago, and is decent for the age, but needs TLC (spiderwebs, small scratches, etc.). Yesterday afternoon I tried a few things on the passenger door (pic is a before shot):

OC via PC - Yellow propel on 5
OP via PC - Green propel on 5

It still didn't quite have the "pop" I was looking for, so hit it lightly with OP again, this time via propel blue. Worked nicely. Followed with Meg's hand glaze and 2 coats of NB.

Hopefully it will warm up enough here to finish the car! After that, I can tackle the Altima, which in 6.5 years has never seen a night in the garage...

Thank you to all who contribute to the site, you make the hobby better for all of us!

Ben

Welcome to the forum
Thanks!

Nothing too radical, pretty basic stuff. DSS 306, Tremec tranny, throttle body, injectors, intake, exhaust, gear, 5-lug conversion + cobra brakes, gear, bunch of guages, etc. You name it, it's probably on there. Hoping to get the spiderwebs and imperfections out as much as possible.
