Greetings from a new member

Hello!

I found this board through my MINI related internet wanderings, and I am so happy to have a constant forum for detailing. I started detailing about ten years ago on my dad's BMW 325. I made mistakes, learned, got frustrated, kept learning, and eventually found my style and comfort zone.

Right now I have a MINI that I try to keep immaculate, although it is very hard since it is a daily driver and does not see a garage. I'll get some pics soon.

One thing I want to learn about is how to begin the process to become more professional at this game. I am a teacher for 10 months, and I would love to start detailing other people's cars on weekends and in the summer. Any suggestions?

mb

Welcome aboard

I'm new having joined only a couple months ago. Had absoutely no knowledge of fine detailing, but had to learn quickly cuz we had just boughten 2 new cars and I wanted them to look reeeaaallllllly good. Happened upon this site by chance (actually spent all my time at a different site, then found this one more recently and now make this my #1 site to visit whenever I open my laptop).

Like Lowejackson said, get ahold of the Autopia book and start reading. But equally as important, if not more so, is to read (and read, and read!) the forums and do some searches. After you've gotten some comfort level, then start asking questions. The Autopian community is exceptionally nice and helpful, not to mention super duper smart.
