Hi,

I've just joined you from the south of England. I'm looking to improve the appearance of my Rover Coupe. I thought it looked pretty good, but having seen the finish on some of the cars here I feel I have a bit of work to do! My coop is currently in the bodyshop having parking dents removed from the door and the roof panel resprayed.

Here are a couple of pics of my car from earlier in the summer...

welcome aboard m8ty

Unless you've got some close up's that would show something more I would say you've got things looking good so far.

Red looks good with a deep reflective appearance. From here I would say just a wee bit more pop is in order.

Thanks for the welcome.

It looks alright in those photos, hence why I chose them but the bonnet is riddled with stone chips and the bumpers have loads of parking scrapes kindly left by the previous owner.

The doors also had plenty of parking scars but I'm expecting it back from the body shop today having had that fixed!

My next task is to get a nice smooth glossy/watery finish to the paint. I hope to make a start on it this weekend after getting plenty of tips off here regarding methods and products

Make sure you let that fresh paint cure properly before you start putting products on top of it mate.

Cheers for the advice. When I collected it today the guy said to give it about a week for the paint to fully harden before polishing, I won't have the time to do much to it before the middle of next week anyway since I head back to uni this weekend.

I'll give it a wash tomorrow and assess what needs doing. I think the off-side rear quarter panel is going to need some work doing because I've noticed that it looks like its suffering from a minor bit of 'orange peel' which I hadn't noticed before Any ideas? or is it a case of plenty of polish and elbow grease?
