I can't believe I havn't found this site before. I absolutely love detailing. If my truck isn't clean, I am not happy. I am currently furious, because my windows were cracked open slightly, and my brother and his friends decided the garage was a good place to smoke, so now it stinks so bad inside, because I sprayed in the first thing I had (Frebreez).
About me:
I am 18 years old, live at home and work at Circuit City. I graduated last year, and will hopefully be starting at I.T.T. tech in March.
I am currently making regular payments on a 2002 Dodge Dakota Sport. It's a club cab, 4X4 with the 4.7l V8. She is my baby. So far I have tinted the windows, and added the K&N FIPK Gen II, and I have the H.O. cams and intake manifold in the garage waiting for instalation.
I have tons of future plans for it, after installing the cams and intake, I am sending the throttlebody in to be bored, and running a cat-less tru-dual exhaust, and digital ignition system, performance injectors, shocks (on order, Rancho RS9000X), sways and KenneBelle computer flash.
Then when I am all done, I think I will trade it in for the new Dakota, by then they'll have all the kinks out.
Well, I hope this is a good place to be.

We're planning a WI / IL meet in the spring. It would probably be between Madison and Chicago. IDK how far that is from you. There's a thread in the Hot Tub forum if you're interested.

Mainly I just want to broaden my knowledge for myself. I do detailing for friends and family for a profit, but it doesn't pay-off enough to really stick with that. I want to make my truck perfect. Except for the current stench the interior is emaculate, and basicly perfect.
The truck isn't even 2 years old (built in mid 2002), and was very well taken care of before I bought it. The couple had traded in two cars and bought two brand new ones, and both cars were amazing. The exterior was perfect when I bought it, and someone thought that wasn't good and slammed there door into it while I was at work. So there is a dent (it didn't chip, thankfully), but it's a good dent. My brother is going to bring it to work (Abra AutoBody) and have someone fix it (one of these years). The paint is 100% scratch and swirl free, but it doesn't have the mirror affect that I want. It's sexy, don't get me wrong, and I can see myself in it, but the reflection is grainy and isn't as clear as I want it.
Maybe it's the color. It's Graphite, which is a grainy, but classy, color.
I do also plan on doing some exterior accersories, like nurf bars, grille inserts, front light bar, and (a far fetch) shaving the door handles.
I live in a suburb in north east Minneapolis. Anoka is the closest city on the map, even though the city I live in has just over 60 thousand people. It would be great to go to a meet, but I will be starting school in the spring, and thats an expense that I can't see myself making right now...I need a better job.
I don't have much bandwith rights on my image host right now, but here is one image of my truck...The tinted windows were a nice touch, and from the rear the molded mudflaps make the truck look really low. http://stratous.250free.com/My_Truck/100_0460.JPG

Your image hoster doesn't allow hotlinking. Just so you know, every member is entitled to free image hosting in *My Gallery*. Just move your pics over here and start having fun! | |

The 'My Gallery' won't really work, 'cause all of my photos are about 700k, and there is a 300k file size limit.
