New to the Autopia; Greetings from Calgary AB!

Hey folks,

Greetings from Calgary, Alberta Canada. I'm a newbie to the forum, but not so new to the world of detailing. A little about myself;

I am employed full time, but also run a part time detailing business out of my home. The web address for my company is www.pebblebeachauto.com I have been detailing vehicles for the last 7 years and have enjoyed every minute of it.

As far as my own vehicles, I drive a 2002 Toyota Tundra, 2001 Honda S2000, and a 1988 Merkur XR4TI. I'm a auto enthusiast through and through, and look forward to learning lots from Autopia.

Anyone else from Calgary, or Alberta?

Welcome to the board. Cochrane isn't part of Calgary yet but close enough. I get tons of info by searching a topic before submitting a post.

Thanks for the compliments on the site folks. Yobwoc; I'm actually in Bearspaw myself; call it half way between Calgary and Cochrane.

Say, you fellas don't know of any Concours-esque shows in our region do you?

The Canadian version..be it however small...of Bimmerfest will be held in Calgary this year and I believe there is a show 'n shine.
Also the other clubs usually have some sort of show.

I know that the Prairie Redliners S2000 group puts on a few events each year, since I am a coordinator. None come close however to Concours judging quality since thats what I am keen on.

The European Classic Car show in September is fairly decent as well, but again, restricted only to European vehicles.

Guess you win some you lose some!

Actually.....no.
We aren't snobs.
There are quite a few non BMW's in the group.
Just no trucks allowed at the track.

Excellent! I visited the links you suggested and one mentioned the ownership of a Bavarian product required to register for Bimmerfest.

My S2000 is coming close to completion for a concours type show, and if Bimmerfest is conducive to such judging, I may just be interested.

Possibly for Bimmerfest but the SABMW club is open to anyone with a cheque book.

vtextc, if you are that close then maybe I can send some business your way. The guy who just bought my bimmer is an older gentleman and might be interested. I'll send him the link to your site. The bimmer sheds brake dust and I am worried this guy won't use a product like P21S to clean the wheels.
