Greetings autopians from another aussie

Just going to do a quick introduction and say "hi"

I've been a follower of the forums for about 4 months, but was only recently inspired to sign up when the urge to ask a few questions got the better of me.

A bit of background, I live in Darwin, Australia and am a member of the Australian Navy. I am in no way a professional detailer, but still like to keep my car looking it's best.
I own a new White VYII Holden Commodore SS (so the other aussies know what I'm working on) which is a daily driver and currently treat it with Megs GC wash and GC wax buffed off by Megs MF's. These products are left over from my previous silver car, a Holden Calais. Unfortunately, Megs is pretty much the best stuff I can get up here right now, but one place sells a little bit of AutoGlym, which I'm also interested in trying.

After the GC runs out, I'm interested in using Sonax body shampoo with AIO and SG which I'll have to mail-order from interstate, but from what i've read, the Klasse twins will provide good protection from the harsh tropical heat and sun.

Looking forward to learning more from the forum...

Welcome to Autopia

Meguairs and Autoglym both sell some very good products. The Sonax is very good. Autoglyms Resin & Gloss should give similar results to Klasse

First up, its always good to see more aussies on the board!
If you have your heart set on Klasse, then you can get it locally ( well from Melbourne ). I use Klasse and I love the stuff! Top it with S100 and my black BA XR6 is pretty sweet.
They have a pretty good range of goodies to choose from, and they even have QEW ( should be available now ) so be sure to ask about that if it interests you ( great stuff, I love it )
This is their website:
Concourse Car Care
Email ( Russell or Nick ):
sales@concoursecarcare.com.au
As for microfiber, you can get them through concourse car care or if the exchange rate is still ok, patrick at exceldetail has some great MF's. Biggest pain is the cost of freight from the states, but I will leave that up to you to decide whats most cost effective for you. I recommend his gold MF's - they are great!
patrick@exceldetail.com

Happy product hunting and feel free to PM me if you have any questions - I'll do my best to point you in the right direction.

Welcome aboard.

There are a few aussies on here and hopefully we can help if you need advice etc.

I am regular user of P21S products, and have been playing with the Klasse Twins as well..........they seem to work very well on darker cars, i did a mates R32 and it came up looking amazing.

Darwin is tough on cars, I have been up there a few times and that red dirt impregnates everything !!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, good luck with the detailing

Cheers
Dave

Great to see another aussie on the forum. There are more of us coming here which is a good sign.

In Melbourne myself. Listen to 6cly, great guy and goes out of his way to help.

Another site to try is www.waxwizard.com.au .

Anyway dont hesitate to contact me if you need any assistance.

Thanks to everyone for chiming in so far. Always nice to have a warm friendly welcome.

I came across concours car care and waxwizard a few months back, and looks like I'll be ordering Klasse (if at all) from CCC. Like I mentioned, I'm keen to try AutoGlym stuff to, which I can obtain locally.

Very nice XR too 6cyls... Looks like you put alot of work into it. I test drove an XR6T along with the SS, and was very impressed with it, but just wanted that Chev V8 grunt in the end...

I posted this in the Meguiars forum too, but one of you guys might know if or when NXT is being released here...

Cheers,

Dylan

Trust me guys, it is definatley on its way

Im a big fan of super resin polish from autoglym, i have seen it take out some pretty decent water spots from 1989. It also leaves a great finsih that i couldnt improve with meguiars hand polish. Their stuff is good, but i like to mix and match. So im resin polishing and s100 at the moment.

Keep in touch,

Myles

P.S Guys, got invited to a Lamborghini drive day. Gallardo here i come. Yippeeeee. I will have to bring a few jars of S100 and some M/F so its perfect

The Autoglym Resin and Gloss work very well with wax, you can really get the best of both world, protection and wet looking paint.

Autoglym resin now! Argggh, too many sealants to try!!
I also want to give Wolfgang a stab, but when the finances are not so depleted as it isnt gonna be a cheap trial that one!

And thanks for the pick-up on waxwizard Myles, I forgot them! And enjoy your Lambo day with the Gallardo ( pronounced Gay ardo am led to believe! )

Kirium, be sure to post some pics up when you are done!
