Talking Hello to everyone....

I just wanted to intoduce myself before I started asking a lot of stupid questions to all you guys

My story as a detailing enthusiast begins as I bought my previous car (350Z wich was stolen ) I started buying detailing stuff to wash it my self becouse I didn't want the paint or the car to be ruined in the autowash.

Now with my new car (E46 BMW 320i) its been horrible. First its jet black :scared . The paint was all messed up since I too delivery of it (I picked it up at night not a great idea). The next day I took it to a shop, but the result wasn't what I expected. So I complained about it at the dealer adn they sent me their detailer. He spent all day polishing and waxing the car, WITH A ROTARY!! UNDER DIRECT SUN LIGHT!!. As you can see I didn't know much about anything back then, and still don't, but I've been lurking this and other detailing sites for some time now.

I went and bought some 3M and Meg's prducts and a WaxMaster , and as you can imagine the result wasn't all that good but better than before. Finally guess what, I took my car in for some warranty repairs... and they screwed up the finish yet again at the dealer .

So now I just got my PC 7336sp and I'm waiting for my pads to come in and I'm ready for round 2 (or 3 or 4 or ....)

Thanks
Ricardo

This is my car after polishing and waxing with the all mighty WaxMaster

Glad to have ya here, ricastm8. You'll find a ton of good info here that will save you a lot of grief. Let me offer a few of my favorites.

To get started, I’d recommend that you read the Autopia Guide to Detailing – it only costs $9.95, and that money helps to support Autopia … so it’s a good cause. You can also find lots of good, basic info for free by reading David's articles at the "Learn" icon at the top of the page.

And reading the House Rules (upper left of the home page) will tell you a bit about our operating procedures here at Autopia. We're a little different from some of the more free-wheeling forums. (Thank goodness!) We put a premium on civility as well as critical analysis.

Also on the home page you’ll find a link to all the acronyms (AIO, CWB, PC, PUPP, etc.) that get bandied-about regularly. In my early days on Autopia, I kept that page open all the time like it was my "secret decoder ring." lol

Then, what some new folks do is read thru the previous posts in the Autopia Univ forum; in addition to teaching you lots of the basics, that will give you a sense of which questions have already been asked and answered a gazillion times.

Also, a lot of folks take a while to discover our Reviews section, where we've posted lots of our own evaluations of products; it's at http://www.autopia.org/review/index.php, if you're interested.
And if/when you get ready to place orders, be sure to check on all the discounts Autopians get.

You'll find that Autopians are really happy to share their info and experiences. Read, learn, be sure to ask us for more info.

Sounds like you're already making some positive strides. Let us know how we can help.

Hola amigo. Welcome to the forum. I really cannot add anything else that Lynn has already stated. Read as much as can and ask questions.
