Talking Another newbie with a black car

Hi all,
New to this board, looking forward to my first detailing so I've been reading a couple of detailing boards to get info on how to and what to use, found great info here I'm already a Roadfly member for a while and it was trough Roadfly that I found this board. Well detailing stuff is not easy to find in Holland but I found out recently I can get a clay bar here (3M Perfect It3 Clay) so I bought that one last week, curious what people here in Holland will think when I'm going to clay my car LOL they will probably call me nuts. Well who cares, most people here prefer the automated carwash instead of doing it by hand I already know better, I do wash it regular and wax it every 3-4 weeks( currently using Sonax Extreme series #1 carnauba paste wax)
I also ordered Meguiar's #7. #9 and #26 paste wax,Their Gold Class shampoo and QD plus a few applicator pads , should arrive next week or if I'm lucky by the end of this week. Also ordered a few MF towels, I found a company here who sells them so I ordered a few to see if they are ok to use for my car Car is a '97 cosmosblack BMW 320i Convertible.
Oops long story to make it short, great board

Jeroen

Hi Jereon

You are not the only Dutch member of this board so they should be able to fill you in on whats available. Since you are buying Meguiars, you can get their clay too (don't know how either rate).

Have a look at Alex Creasey's demo website http://www.demomedia.co.uk/sp or PM him - I imagine he will he able to supply you some products that are too expensive to import from the US.

Dave

Thanks Dave.
That's correct I can get their clay too, but I've heard Megs Clay is not a great clay bar and I heard the 3M clay bar is ok so I got that one. Funny thing is I checked Clay Magic's website and their clay bar looks identical to the 3M bar.
Will check his site, it's good to see more detailing enthusiasts in Europe

Jeroen,

Good to see an other Dutch detailing enthousiast. Like you said it is quite difficult to find the good stuff over here in Holland. I just send you an email regarding the Zaino products.

Were in The Netherlands do you live?

Re: Another newbie with a black car

Welcome to Autopia Jeroen Yea this is a gret place to learn about deatiling cars. I suspect you have already read here about detailing black cars, but if you have not I suggest you do before having a go, just search for black car, or even look at the recent threads you will find a few about black cars. Good luck.
