Just popped in to say "hey"

Figured I would introduce myself.
I'm a transplant from Miami Fl here now just south of Atlanta.
I'm on my 5th Mustang (1969 Fastback which I could kick myself in the head for not keeping, 82GT, 95GT, 2003 Cobra), my current one is a 2001 Cobra.
I'm a HUGE car fan and really like a wide range of cars...the Mustangs have just been my niche, I guess.

When the 01 is cleaned up, it looks nice for a 112K car, but obviously has some room for improvement....which is what lead me to this web site

Anyways....I'm looking forward to burning up the "search" button and learning a great deal while looking at some beautiful cars.
If you have any questions, just let me know...

Take care
Chris

Re: Just popped in to say "hey"

Just a JLT CAI, SLP Loudmouth II catback, Alum Driveshaft, MGW shifter, FR500 wheels (18x10 in the rear, 18x9 up front)...thats about it right now.

Hopefully after the first of the year, I'm going to ****t gathering parts for a 5.4 swap...we'll see though. Not completely sold on that or a BB/stroker 4.6. The game plan is 400+ rwhp.

Re: Just popped in to say "hey"

2001 cobra's are not supercharged out of the factory, started that in 2003...

Instead of the 5.4 swap why not just get a super for the current motor? im sure that would put you at your target goal. You need around what...450 flywheel horsepower or so? Supercharger and a nice cam would get you there.

I wouldn't put a S/C on a stock bottom end 4.6. Other than the crank, nothing else is forged in them and it becomes an issue not if the motor will cut lose...but when. I would have to build the bottom end of my current 112K motor before I put a S/Cer on it.
With the money spent on a roots blower (which I prefer) and forge the bottom end, it would be cheaper doing it all N/A which is a little more "sleeper" than the S/C screaming down the road.

Don't get me wrong, I love a blower...but I've had it and want to try going N/A more than anything at this point

I appreciate the idea though

Re: Just popped in to say "hey"

If you want to go NA get really radical and put the V-10 from the ford pickup in your mustang. Not sure on the cost so its most likely out of the budget but you would have a sleeper and something unique.

Also any chance you could get a video of the exhaust, flyby something like that? I always loved the sound of the 4.6's
