Hello From Missouri!

Hey y'all,
Another new guy here, I'm kind of familiar with detailing vehicles. I've been detailing my own for a long time and I'm starting to want to buy more stuff and begin to really detail other people's cars.

First on my list is a Porter Cable 7424XP and probably the Pinnacle XMT swirl removers.
I'm going to work on my car to begin with and test everything out on, getting my technique down so I don't experiment on everyone else's vehicles. haha

I know that the XMT intermediate swirl remover is the first step in polishing. What is next? Is it the #1 ultra fine swirl remover? Or is there any other finishing polish to use?

And about a sealant and glaze... What ones would you recommend using with the XMT line of products? I will probably use the 180 paste wax when it's all said and done.

Thanks for all the help guys and I look forward to learning a lot!

Re: Hello From Missouri!

One more thing that I forgot, What about pads?
I'm going to use the 5.5" Lake Country pads, but what colors?
I know that I will get orange for the first polish, but then what for the finer stuff? Blue for sealer and glaze and what about the ultra fine swirl remover?
Sorry for all the questions, but thanks a ton!

Re: Hello From Missouri!

Welcome to the forum, looks like you have some nice products selected! XMT has four different polishes, #4 being the strongest, #1 great for finishing up. THe XMT Carnauba Finishing Glaze is also a nice addition to your line up.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm from Kirkwood (St. Louis). Bowling Green Bobcats FTW!!!....

(originally from Hannibal)

Isn't it amazing how there are all these super talented detailers from all over the country but you can't find one professional detailer in St. Louis, MO???

Haha. That's pretty funny. I actually went to Mark Twain. Lived in Perry most of the time. Back and Forth pretty much all the time. Lots of miles driven around the area.
