My Introducton

Hey guys. My name is Joe and I am in the west Chicago suburbs. I have always been into cleaning my parents cars since I was a little kid. A couple years ago, I go more into it and started buying what I though was the "high end" stuff. this included the Meguiar's clay kit, and an assortment of over the counter waxes.

now, I have my own car which has turned me onto really getting my paint perfect. Now, I am getting really into it and I am starting to buy the real "high end stuff. I want to stop using the meguiars autozone stuff.

Most of what i know about detailing is what i jsut sort of learned on my own from doing it so much. I do have to give so credit to Phil at DetailerDomain. he is on the Audizine forums that i am on in our detailing section and he has tought me a lot.

here is what i have ordered so far:
CG's Extreme Top-Coat sealant 3x carnuba
CG's Wet mirror finish
CG's 8oz claybar (med duty)
CG's Liquid Extreme Shine for tires
CG's wheel and rim cleaner - premium blue

Right now i use the Lexol products for the leather but i plan on swiching it out ofr the Leather master line

If this is like any forum, pics are a must so here is some pics after a detail;
first up, my pride and joy. my 2002 audi A4 3.0 light silver metalic. this is what it looks like after clay and the zymol wax that you get from autozone:

This one is my friends 2005 Audi S4 in brilliant black. this one was clayed but this one was waxed with Meg's NXT 2.0 which i was very satisfied with:

so there is just a little of what i have done. my wash process before a wax is wash with dawn, clay with the meg's kit and then wash again with dawn and then wax and the rinse down after wax.

so the next step after i get all of the stuff from chemical guys is to get me a polisher! i will most likely go with one of the kits sold by chemical guys. it comes with the new porter cable orbital polisher and a backing plate and a bunch of pads and 2 microfiber towels. all for 200 bucks. but.......do it get the 5" or the 7.5"?

and one more question, What is the best set of microfiber towels that i should buy. I was thinking of going with the Chemical guys 100 dollar kit but im just not sure.
