Louie - PA - 1993 3000GT VR4

Hey guys,

I just found this forum/website when I was looking for information on detailing. I worked at a dealership last summer detailing and did it a little bit on my own, but wanted to learn more. Being into cars, I knew that I would learn a lot on what works and what doesn't if I found a forum full of knowledgeable people and this seems to be it. Already learned a lot and plan to keep reading

I didn't learn much at the dealership as they had no clue what they were doing, but I am just trying to work on the basics like polish v. wax (I don't get why Zaino calls their stuff polish, it isn't really is it?), methods of application, and where to go for good products.

I am also planning on starting a side business detailing in my neighborhood since I am having a hard time finding a decent job with today's economy. Since I don't know much I will not charge much and will make everything fully aware to customers. I will also not use machines for a while as I am scared of ruining paint even with a orbital or DA. I bought a bunch of stuff at Walmart that I've had good luck with and bought the starter package from Zaino and may also purchase ZPC in the future if I require it.

I also drive a 1993 3000GT VR4. I used to have a 1994 3000GT SL but I sold it to upgrade from an auto, FWD, N/A to a manual, AWD, TT lol With 150K miles I did a ton of maintenance (new drive shaft/main and rod bearings/oil pump/timing belt/etc/etc) but so far it is running well (knock on wood!). I spend a ton of time on 3Si.org also.

I'm looking forward to learning more on here!

Louie
