New kid from Springfield, MO.

Sup guys,

My name is Matt and I hail from the midwest, namely Springfield, Missouri. I drive a 98 Acura Integra LS sedan and love it. I just wish it was a 5spd but I will be converting it in the future. I guess you could say I am a Honda enthusiast but probably not the stereotypical body kit, under-glow ricer many of you may associate with a Honda owner (although I do admit going through a phase. Here is a pic:

The color is B-74P or, in English, Adriatic Blue Pearl.

But this is a detailing site so I copied the list from the sticky at the top of this forum section.

1. How did you wind up at Autopia?
I found out about the site from a buddy.
2. What do you like most about detailing? I love making a car look great.
I love the feedback from people that appreciate the work that goes into it.
3. What are your favorite products/processes and why?
I have always used Meguir's products. Don't really know why, just like how it worked out for me and never really looked at many other things.
4. What's your dream car and why?
I have plenty of them and being, admittedly, a Honda/Acura fanboy they are all Acuras/Hondas. There is something about an Acura RL dumped with TEIN coilovers and a nice set of wheels that gets me going. Or a track ready NSX or S2000 would be sweet to.
5. What's the best thing you learned on Autopia?
Right now, general prcoess. I just recently picked up a PC 7424 due to the reviews here on Autopia. Doing things by hand just wasn't giving me the results I wanted after a while especially since my paint is needing more and more care due to it taking more and more damage.
6. What are some of your other hobbies and interests?
When I'm not at school, work, or with friends which is about 90% of the time, I'm usually on the net researching something about cars whether is be about detailing or performance parts. I'm trying to get into a little more photography (mostly cars). I try to make it to the gym about 3 or 4 times a week and really enjoying it.
7. Do you have any pets? If so, types, names, pics.
2 Dogs - Melody and Buddy
2 Cats - Lucky and Oscar

Sorry, I don't know what breeds the dogs are except for that they are muts.

8. Name three secret techniques that you think you should share to fellow Autopians.
HAHA wAt? I have no detailing secrets.
9. Where are you from and where do you live now?
I was born in Riverside, CA on 10/23/87. We moved out to the midwest when I was 3.
10. What was you first car and what got you interested in keeping cars perfect?
My first car was a 93 Nissan Alitma. I hated it.
I'm not really sure how I got into it but I know I always love seeing a newly detailed car with no swirls (visible).

11. What motivates you to detail?
Like I said, I love seeing perfectly detailed cars. But I guess my friends really keep me into it. I got a reputation about being anal with how clean my car was. I always loved the compliments on how clean it was. That has kinda gone down hill due to my lack of motivation lately. It gets hard when you want better and better results because you know they aren't perfect and you can't afford a quality buffer. Now that I have a buffer though I hope to re-vitalize my efforts when spring comes around and even make some side cash.
12. Would you ever pay someone else to detail your car?
Probably not. But you never know when you feel it's necessary.
13. Does detailing run in the family at all, or are you the only normal one?
Lol, my mom waxes her car once ever 6 months. My dad has it done by someone else (I think Auto-Magic. EW). My brother could care less.
14. What is your favorite part about detailing?
Making a car look even better and the compliments that follow. It's an awesome feeling when someone appreciates your work.
15. If detailing is a hobby for you, would you like to do it full time, or do you feel that it would take the fun out of it?
It's just a hobby really. I hope to be able to make some extra cash during the summer seeing as how retail business tends to slow down. I get less hours during the summer because of it. But I could how doing it full time could take the fun out of it. There is no fun in something you NEED to do to pay the bills. Especially if you had to take jobs that wouldn't be exciting to you. But on the flipside I have tried getting on at Motor Cars International in their detailing dept. here in town. It's a big exotic car dealer. I think it would be pretty cool washing/detailing Lambos and Ferraris all day while learning from pros.

Any more questions please ask!
